‘Tis almost October

Early as usual!

The month of Halloween is here once again! The time of year where my ghoulish imagination really likes to get going. Well, it did in the past, so hopefully it can again.

I’ve decorated my blog, hauled the cauldron up from the Cellar, and will buy some orange food dye tomorrow. I’m not entirely sure what I’ll be doing with the food dye yet, but hopefully that’ll inspire me too!

I’ve still got that extra building to explore out back, the one that the Mansion revealed last week… I may wait a few more weeks before I take my first steps into the dark shadowy halls that await. I’ll take a candle along with me, which will be sure to blow out as soon as I hear a sinister creak as I walk across those old, subterranean floorboards.

In fact, I’ll leave it until a dark, stormy night where the wind is howling through the trees, before I go and explore; making sure that it’s late evening also. There’s no point exploring in the daytime, is there?

As a back up, I’ll take my torch with me, but make sure I leave it switched on for most of the day I decide to go, so the light isn’t as bright, and it may just cut out, just for further dramatic effect. I’ll also make sure that I leave my mobile phone in the Mansion, but then again, I may need to take some photographs, so I’ll have to think about that.

I do need to lower myself into the new part of the Mansion, through the rooftop window, and whilst I was in the Cellar (hauling the cauldron) I noticed a manky old rope ladder in one of the corners… I’ll get that to lower myself through the roof, making sure the rope ladder doesn’t snap, otherwise I may end up trapped. We don’t want that on a cold murky night, do we?

And then, I’ll be able to explore. On my own, of course.

I wonder if there’ll be big spiders?

I’ll wear a coat, just in case. I don’t mind spiders, but I just don’t fancy them crawling inside my clothing.

Oh yes.

I think I’m going to have some fun this October.

Well, I hope so anyway!

    Have fun Tom! 🙂

It’s that time of year when the kids create havoc and expect us to dish out money – no sweets for our little sods!!! 😦

Hope you have fun exploring – if I don’t hear from you in a week I’ll arrange a nice healthy wake!!! 🙂

    God Bless!

    Prenin.

      Mwahahaharrr!
Thanks, Prenin. I remember your tales of the ‘little darlings’ from previous posts!
Oh, and as Arnie says, I’ll be back! I have a month’s worth of Halloween themed posts to write, and publish… and umpteen posts on the blogs I visit to catch up on, yours included! My exploring is going to have to be in short bursts to stat off with, I feel. Pretty much like my blogging of late, it must be said…
Have a good night tonight, Prenin!

Forget the torch, Tom. Just download a flashlight app on your cellphone and be prepared to take photos for us so we can see what’s lurking out back. I’ll be waiting for your report in the safety of Manhattan.

I have a flashlight built in to my mobile phone, LA, I don’t know why I didn’t think of that earlier. I can actually blog from my mobile as well, if I can pick up the network, so there may be a live report when I goes exploring. We’ll see…

Muahaha. Take the cell. It’ll do everything you need and if the candle or torch quit, you’ll have the light of the screen. Travel light, I say. Less to worry about and more adventure to experience.

Thanks, VK. I’ll have to think about the party, depending on what the new room reveals! When I explore the room, I shall leave no stone unturned!

If by horror and blood curdling screams you mean groans and moans and titters of laughter you may be on to something, Andro. I’m making things up as I go along, so far so good I think. Not a curdle in sight yet…
Yes, I love October, and the Halloween theme… and my Inner Child is beside himself!
