Look into my eyes…

“Is he looking at me?” Shadowcat ponders, before he meanders and wanders arind the Grinds, stopping to wonder, under skies that thunder, should he dash for cover or wait for food?

He returns for a while, sits, stares with his cat ‘smile’ and hypnotic eyes, looking and thoughtfully thinking, purposely purring, yet waiting in style… until the first raindrop makes him run a mile.

“I’ll be back!” I sense him think, as all I can see is a tail, long and black, vanish out back. But I wonder… did his stare put me under … or did I hear him think?

He is stunning, isn’t he, Tess? We have four black cats who visit us now, three who we’ve named Shadow, Daisy and Frobisher… and the fourth one is a newcomer, we’ve not quite got his or her personality yet, but we will. The new one, Shadow and Daisy are identical.

Ooh, he looks like Bond! (Not Spudley, I suppose?)

I thought that when I saw Bond the other day, Kate. And no, this is Shadow (the one whose eyes used to glow)… Spudley doesn’t visit as much these days as she must be seventeen now… we still see her on occasions however!

Hmmm… Not that I’m unlucky, but I did get my path crossed by a black cat carrying a ladder… 😉

Lovely picture Tom – animals can communicate when they need to! 🙂

    God Bless!

    Prenin.

I always thought black cats were lucky, Prenin. Shadow is forever crossing my path!
And yes, they do communicate in their own special way.

Those eyes. They are very…….wise? Dubious? Threatening? Hungry? All of the above?

They are all – and more – Andra! Although they don’t glow as brightly nowadays, which is a good thing!

I think I did too, Lady P. I love speaking to cats, and they do answer. Spudley was learning English, as a matter of fact!
Shadow doesn’t like being stared at… I feel I have to warn you, Pen!
