Trick of Light?

“The Illusion of Reality!” declared the compere.

Three spotlights lit up three different areas of the stage, the rest of the place was in total darkness. The circles of light began to move, and danced around each other on the stage, all moving in separate figure of eight patterns, and all managing to overlap in the centre.

Two dark and still figures could be seen on the stage at the point where the lights overlapped, but then disappeared into the darkness as the lights moved away.

The spotlights began to shrink in size, and started to move around faster. All keeping to the same pattern, and all moving at the same speed.

Within no time, the circles had become lines, the figures of eight had become a solid shape, like a flower.

In the centre of this flower of light, there were now three people.

Two standing, and one hovering just above them.

The figure who was hovering raised his hands into the air, and spread wide his fingers and thumbs. The two figures beneath him crumpled flat to the ground. They weren’t people. They were paintings on two black sheets.

The hovering man was another illusion. A hologram who simply dispersed into thousands of shards of tiny white lights.

The stage became dark once again as the spotlights faded.

The compere spoke for a second time, “The Reality of Illusion. The Illusion of Reality. Can we be certain of what we are seeing all of the time, when we can not be certain of what we are seeing some of the time?”

This rather random post has been created for Sideview’s Weekend Theme, which this week is ‘the illusion of reality’. I’m now going to lie down in a darkened room after seeing hundreds and thousands of moving dots, lines and images!

I don’t mind them most of the time, Prenin, but looking at the elephant’s legs after looking at that moving red and purple thing hurts my eyes and my mind!

I wish the illusion we are living in today were entertaining, but nothing could be further from the truth! The illusion today has become very deadly! Thanks T…..VK

Yes, VK… but we can make our own reality better if we put our minds to it…

I had to laugh Tom all those moving dots! When I finished my asta pen and ink, took eight nights of work, endless drops of ink, for two hours afterwards, it was hard to see the world in a solid shape. Everything was composed of dots! Don’t recommend it!

I like these sort of trick pictures, I like the puzzle picture types too, like ‘find the hidden objects , I used to buy books with those in them when I was a kid, and still can’t resist one if I see it.
I get that the flower has illusion of movement, and the elephant has way too many legs, but I dont get the cow picture, it’ll drive me nuts so you’ll have to tell me 😛
Wish you a wonderful day Tom.
    Big hugs

I found these on’tinternet, Nikki, so I’m not exactly sure about the cow. The others are as you say (and the elephant hurts my brain!) But the cow’s black pattern on its face resembles the picture of two people in profile which then change into picture of a vase. Why the cow? I have no idea… but why not?! 😉 Maybe it’s to add something a little different to that picture.
Hope you’re having a good Tuesday Nikki! 🙂

wow so cool, now that you said that I easily could see the profiles of a man and woman, however I cant make out a vase. Oh well, maybe i’ll get there yet.

It isn’t as obvious in the cow’s face, Nikki, but it’s the white shape between the two profiles… in the ‘normal’ pictures the image changes between the faces and the vase.
