Future…

Future

Through the swirling mists of time
An image begins to appear
An alternative future comes into view
But it isn’t very clear
It’s not entirely set in stone
The way forward has many ways
Depending on the path you choose
Will alter your future days…

Illustration Friday time once more; I’ve not participated in the challenge for the last two weeks, I think, but I decided to have another go this week. The theme is Future. I decided to go for an alternative view of the future… one that we can’t see, but one that someone else can.

Or can she?

If a future is always changing, can anybody really predict what will happen?

I recently read Kate Atkinson’s novel Life After Life, and while it was VERY tedious at times, it did present a very unique take on this question.

      Now there’s a coincidence, Andra!
I’d actually love to be able to look into the future in one respect, but wouldn’t in another. Staying in the now and shaping the future is a much better idea, methinks. Would you not recommend this novel?

Depends. Having read your blog for a long while, I think you might like it. It’s got some lovely writing in it, but it is very repetitive. As long as you go in knowing that, I think you’d be glad you read it in the end.

I’ll look out for it then., thanks Andra.. it has an interesting sounding title… and I don’t mind repetition every now and then…

The future is what we make it TL….No gypsy palm readers or crystal ball readers necessary. It is all up to us. I think we are finally choosing for the better 🙂 Great pic btw…Have a happy week..VK

Yesterday is gone, tomorrow is not given.

Today is a gift which is why we call it ‘the present’. 🙂

Love this post Tom – The crystal ball gazer reminds me of a palmistry reader who had a sign outside her tent: ‘Closed due to unforeseen circumstances’… 🙂

    God Bless!

Thanks, Prenin. I’ve seen that sign quite a few times as well! 😀
I have a Crystal Ball but have never seen anything in it yet… maybe it is telling me just to focus on the now as well!

I fear not, Sir Aquatom, or else whomsoever would be netting a golden nest egg.. I know I know, no-one can use their gift for personal gain.. so they could get round that by telling moi’ Couldn’t they? …. Seriously though, 🙂 , I think possibilities, differing personal decisions, always make predicting the future a bit hazardous… I would hate to think we’re treading a path where our footsteps are solid and laid out in front of us, … and therefore not changeable … I choose the right path, which may be the left one, with a detour to the erm… one over there… Circles methinks… 😉 xPenx

Good question, Tom. I’d like to answer your question so I got myself a crystal ball, but all this vapour is rising and not only can I not see the crystal, I don’t know where I am anymore. If I make it back, I’ll let y…

All things change Tom, and each and every action changes that which is in the future so nothing is ever cast in stone it is always changing.. I get glimpses of events in peoples lives to come, but they can change depending on the choices they make…

Lets face it if someone told you that they saw you getting run down by a bus tomorrow, you would stay at home, so you would change the outcome… LOL… If I could look deep into my own crystal ball I would predict the lotto numbers so I didnt have to go to work LOL..

I once asked Spirit the question, as I could often ‘See’ things and events for other people and yet would be totally Blind about anything to do with me or my own family…
They said YOU have to still learn via your own mistakes.. If you knew what was coming you would spend time trying to avoid it.. How true!!!….

Great drawing Tom and thought provoking post. I do not want to know what is in the future … We should enjoy living our NOW moments,, lets face it.. its the only moment we do live…

hope you had a good weekend.. Have a great week Tom

Thanks, Sue… and yes, NOW is the most important!
I often ‘see’ things happening just before they happen, but I don’t know whether I’m predicting it, or just predicting the most obvious outcome to the situation… I need to see if I can get in tune with what I’m seeing to ‘see’ if I can get things a little clearer… and maybe slightly further in the future! But yes, events cause the directions to change anyway!
Learning from our mistakes is a valid point though… we do tend to make many of them, sometimes over and over again!
I hope you had a good weekend Sue, thanks for asking. Mine was an OK one… and have a great week yourself!
      Thanks for calling by!

Once we have learnt the lesson of the mistake, it will stop repeating Tom.. But often it will keep returning until we have truly learnt from it.. and let it go.. xox
