Pressure makes us do some funny things… say some funny things. Being on a TV quiz show, against the clock, with gazillions of viewers watching must add a little ‘pressure’. Why else would a contestant answer the following:
Host: How much does an ounce of gold weigh?
Contestant: Fourteen ounces.
Host: What ‘S’ is the nearest star to Earth?
Contestant: Saturn.
Host: What is the only even prime number?
Contestant: Nine.
Host: Name a game played in the dark.
Contestant: Charades.
Host: Which country lies directly east of South Korea?
Contestant: North Korea.
Host: Name an animal with really good sight.
Contestant: Bat.
Host: Which British Prime Minister famously said “We have become a grandmother”?
Contestant: John Major.
Host: Name something you often misplace in your car.
Contestant: The steering wheel.
The above were ‘borrowed’ from the book Universally Challenged by Wendy Roby, I may have posted some before, but I’ve been howling with laughter as I wrote this post. Howling with laughter is a good way to release pressure, and obviously a good way to feel good! Apart from the aching belly, but really, that feels good too! Ooh, me belly!
Which brings me to my next writing challenge. I don’t know if anyone is taking part in these, but I’ll keep adding them, just in case. They’re only for ideas for posts to be linked to for my forthcoming ‘party of a thousand parties’ in just over a fortnight… you must have heard of it by now… anyway, this theme / subject / topic / prompt is slightly different. Write a post including the phrase ooh, me belly.
Random, I know.
Not as random as the other two prompts, ‘The fun side to a bad hair day’ and ‘Dashing through the Snow’, but slightly random never the less. And I plan on adding more random prompts over the next few days.
Well, it all helps in the long run, I suppose!
But no pressure! This is all meant to be fun!
Oh, and can you guess where this view is?

Contestant: Erm…
Host: The clock has started counting down
