The Daily Stranger

This is personal.

I’m sorry about that.

This is the only way I can communicate with you.

I’m sorry about that, too.

I see you walking, I don’t know if you notice. You brighten the dullest of mornings as you walk along the pavement. I can’t speak to you as we pass each other, I don’t think that you even notice me going by. The way you walk, casually and confidently, with your destination firmly in your sight, I don’t think you would notice anyone around you.

But if you do, I really am sorry.

I should really stop and offer you a lift.

Nice finish. I’m thinking undying love–nope–just a ride. Too funny. Love this.

    Nice piece Tom! 🙂

It really makes you think about the barriers we have between ourselves and others…

    God Bless!

It does, Prenin. I think it’s more to do with not trusting others that causes the problems – that’s what I find, anyway!.

Maybe it’s time to get out of the car, Tom, and make a real move. Just sayin’.

Do it Tom. It could lead to another series of posts, the “What Happenend When I Got Out of My Car” series.

Eek! You’ve just resurrected a couple of memories there, LA… I may ‘park’ this idea for a while!

Good twist. Mind you, he might be mistaken for a pervert, so he’s probably wise.

What a sad society we have become.

This speaks to the state of affairs in the world today. God forbid we should talk to strangers. We have unfortunately learned so well from our keepers how to isolate ourselves and loose our communal power. What a shame. Good one T….VK

Thanks, VK. We are becoming more isolated from each other, aren’t we?

We live in a world created in mistrust unfortunately Tom.. No longer do strangers look up to talk to another.. and they look at you gone out if you should smile …mores the pity ..

      I know, it’s such a shame, Sue.
People aren’t that bad really, given half the chance… but it’s the trust that seems to have gone. Like you say, mores the pity indeed!

Quite possibly, Paul, but he must think that his prayers have not been answered yet, if that’s the case! 😉

I think that stopping could be misunderstood,
perhaps even having this person down as a
kerb crawler or something equally as distasteful 😦

No, I think it is better to drive
on by especially in this day and age…

    How Sad Is That? 😦

It’s not the best is it, Andro? The thing is, folk can get into trouble for helping people nowadays, which isn’t a good state of affairs. Sad but true.

Well…why doesn’t he! or she! hmmm…you know..I sometimes do that. Not at a constant stranger as you have described but off and on..I have little monologues at people I see…not very long, but short little ones and then my eyes drift and my drifts along with it.
