What once was coal
Sparks
Fail to
Ignite
Smoking cinders
Roll
As
A bird
Takes
To flight
Flames
No longer lick
Embers glow no more
Two strong legs kick
And wings help the bird soar
Darkness diminished by wings
Outstretched wide
The birth of the phoenix
Has just been described
High up above flies the magical bird
Once only ever dreamed of in our real world
