We interrupt the normal proceedings of this blog, for a scheduled update of the 101 Tasks in 1001 Days challenge.
Painting the world orange
5. Clock up at least one visitor to my blog from every country in the world
I’m not doing too badly with this challenge so far, considering I’m not really doing anything for it at all! The world is slowly but surely orangifying.
Words and more words
6. Create one new word every week between April 1st 2012 and December 1st 2012, and add it to my dictionary page
Or not as the case may be… I started so well with this challenge and then, well, forgot about it. So, I’ve started it once again today with my new word orangifying which means to become orange… I went onto the sunbed and was orangifying nicely.
I’ve searched several dictionaries and the word does not exist in any of them, so I have planted my flag firmly in the word and claimed it as my own (although a quick internet search will show that the word has been used by others…)
Tasks? More tasks?
10. Add ten new tasks to this list each week until it is full
This is another one I’m not doing particularly well in. This is a hard challenge in itself, having to come up with the challenges to do for the challenge. I still have tens of tasks to find. Eek! Better get thinking or time will be up…
Me!
32. Paint a self portrait
Done! A completed task! Go me!
Doctor Dolittle, I presume?
12. To befriend an animal I wouldn’t normally befriend
Done! Completed! I made friends with Shadow, a cat that had befriended Spudley the Cat. I wouldn’t have befriended Shadow if he hadn’t befriended Spudley and visited with her in the first place. Yes, I know it’s kind of an opt out, but I’ve still completed this task!
Am I there yet?
16. Climb 10,000 steps
When I remember to count them, I’m doing quite well with this challenge, and am well on track to complete it within the 1001 days. I’ll probably have exceeded it by a million or so, as I tend to forget to count. But, so far, I have climbed 1095 steps.
I’m in the money!
7. Save £1,000.00 in £2.00 coins
I’m doing really well with this challenge, and number eight (with the five pound notes)! My collection is steadily growing, and in no time at all I’ll have an extra two thousand pounds!
In a hundred words…
31. Write 50 100 word stories
I’ve got off to a flying start (quite literally!) with this one, and my first one hundred word tale was published on the blog a couple of days ago. I have others waiting to be published, some are fun, and some are strange. Well, most are strange actually – but I only have a hundred words to tell the tales!
It’s in the stars
24. Learn the names of all 88 constellations
I haven’t done a lot with this task so far, although I did start it before the challenge began, when I looked at Phoenix and Orion. I’ll soon be soaring though the stars looking for more interesting facts about the constellations that surround our great world.
I’m the star?
11. To appear in at least five random short stories on other people’s blogs
I’m still waiting to see if this will take off. I know of a couple of people who are interested in writing a short story featuring little old moi (Aquatom) as (one of or) the character in question. Details, if you would like to help me to pass this part of the challenge, are available by clicking the ‘fancy a writing challenge?’ link on the right.
Moving forward
I still have a long way to go with this challenge, but it’s fun to do, and it’s helping me to continue to feel good (number 20). I’m sure I’ll complete the task (possibly a lot quicker than anticipated if I don’t come up with the missing challenges!)
One step at a time is the best way to move forward!
