The final Inner Being to escape through the rift was going to be obvious. Of course it had to be, and was, my Inner Zombie. No prizes for guessing that he’d be involved somewhere.
Actually looking quite dapper, for a change, he joins Thomasina (my Inner Woman) Fingers (or Fangers as he wants to be called this month, my Inner Typist) and two apparent newcomers, my Inner Bogeyman (who’s vegetarian) and my Inner Creation (a camera-shy synthetic green (that’s synthetic and green, not a synthetic man-made green) monster with a large bolt on his temple holding his eye in place).
It’s also obvious why the monsters should want to escape; they want to go and join the Gathering that takes place in the Grinds, and this year it’s due sometime this month, although I’m not entirely certain when. All sorts of creatures gather in the Grinds for a party… it’s best not to think about it.
I’m unsure why Thomasina and Fingers – sorry, Fangers – would want to go. Fangers doesn’t even have a ‘body’, and I wouldn’t have thought it being Thomasina’s thing, what with her being stunningly beautiful (to the extent of Aphrodite’s standards) and all that jazz. But, each to their own, I suppose.
I’ll keep them out for a while. It’ll be nice and quiet inside my head for a while at least, what with there remaining only my Inner Geek, Tomanova (my Inner Romantic), Inner Beekeeper, Inner Superhero and Inner Leader of the Opposition remaining (although I’m sure there are others, one forgets… plus my Inner Mind is a vast and mostly unexplored place and these Inner Beings pop up on a regular basis anyway. It may not be as quiet as I’m hoping for, thinking about it). We’ll see.
A part of me is thinking they’ve planned this escape. It seems a little too convenient. I’m sure we’ll find out what they’re up to during October. For now though, it’s ‘business’ as usual, and on with the blog!
