Gathering in the Grinds

Usually, at this time of the year, the Grinds become over-run with vampires, werewolves, zombies and the like. Rather than getting too close to them, I tend to let them have their little Gathering on Halloween and then move on to wherever it is they go from there.

The creatures that dwell in the Grinds are also aware that something is going on, but to look at them you wouldn’t know it. They hardly bat an eyelid.

Take Sinister Bunny for instance… cool as a cucumber:
The Vampire Sheep merely graze… and growl…:

Olive the Peacock struts his stuff nonchalantly…:
Shadowcat flexes his glowing eye muscles to look more fearsome, but apart from that he’s perfectly normal:
Spiders weave their webs with ease, paying no attention whatsoever to anything else around them:
Splodge just sits, waits and watches:
The Plesiosaur and the Dragons investigate each other, but nothing else comes of it (Apologies for the quality of this picture, but I didn’t really want to stick around!)
The witch just watches from afar, sending, occasionally, one or two of her familiar spiders to investigate things further:

Crikey. The witch. AGAIN! She’s removed the image of her and her spider. Oops.

Having said that, Shadow is always on guard:
The lake always seems still at this time of the year. Mind you, with the Plesiosaur off investigating the Dragons I suppose it would:
Yet there’s always time for the Spirit of the Trees to make an appearance. Can you see the Spirit’s faces in the picture below? They are very well hidden, but they are there! As an example, see the tree that is leaning over the water to the left of the picture? There is a branch that appears to be reaching straight up coming out if it (It looks like a tuning fork…), well, slightly above where the branch and the tree form a V, there’s a spooky looking face grinning from out of the greenery:
It isn’t the clearest of faces, it must be said, but it’s there… and rather fitting for Halloween. But there are others… I’ve highlighted the Grinning Face below:
Let me know if you spot any others…

Go higher up in the tuning fork to the patch of green leaves in the center…In there it looks almost like an ancient face mask with feathers…The mouth is very clear. You best be careful of the grinds right now TL…I know Shadow is watching out for you, but things can turn beyond spooky as Halloween draws closer. Take care….Poor old Spoldge looks pretty battered up…He needs extra loving! Hint….Hint…. VK 🙂

I can see the feathery mask, VK. Thanks for pointing it out… it’s quite full in that area.
Splodge is fine… that’s his character look.

Shadow is my all time favorite at this time of year, Tom. That first picture should put any visitors on their guards. It’s those e-y-e-s-. Mwuahaha 😀 😀 😀

Beware the disembodied eyeball on the tree trunk just below your tree-spirit’s face!

Watch out for the floating appendage slightly above and to the right of the tuning fork!

😀 That appendage belongs to one of the Spirits, CM. It’s his nose.
