View from the window: Hidden secrets!

The view from the small window this morning is of one of the great Pyramids. I love the Pyramids, and the Sphinx of course, obviously because of their ties to way back when.

It actually looks nice and warm out there, and calm, which is always a good thing. Here, temperatures are set to plummet once again, with even more snow forecast… ah well. Spring will really be here soon. I can feel it.

Just as I mentioned in my Stonehenge post yesterday,  the Pyramids fill me with awe. And, the secrets that those Ancient Egyptians hid inside all those years ago help to give clues as to how civilisation was back then.

We think of ourselves as technologically advanced nowadays, but sometimes, I think we rely on technology a little too much… and this is really felt when our technology breaks down on us.

I wonder how the Ancients built not one, but many of these great structures, without the equipment we have now. And, as these secrets weren’t hidden anywhere, I think I’ll be wondering for a long time.

Just maybe, the Ancients have hidden their secrets, somewhere so well they just haven’t been discovered yet. We’re still discovering life on this great planet of ours, so it isn’t unreasonable. And I wonder yet again, if these secrets were to be discovered, would we start to use them once more… or continue with our more ‘modern’ practises?

Sideview’s weekend theme this week is Hiding Something, and I instantly thought of a hidden secret when I first saw the theme. The secrets of the Pyramids came to me after writing yesterday’s post!

Would you believe it if I said I am totally blanking out on a comment to your post?! BUT I did want to comment, so I thought I would just mention that …as a comment..

I don’t know…I want to say that normally I would love a picture of some snow..because it would be cooling and that helps when it’s sweltering here…BUT it so happened to have rained this evening and the night is nice and cool…so the view from your mansion window is totally appropriate! I feel nice and warm…:D

I agree with you that we depend too much on technology. Technology is nice…but it would be nicer to go back to when things were simpler…a simpler life with modern day plumbing of course..heheheh.

And cool! I actually did have something to comment on! hehe

I’ve seen that new theme, Shree.
I have a private blog that I use for testing purposes, and I’ve got it set up on there to try it out. It’s a bit brighter than my current theme, and the options seem a little more limited as well, but we’ll see. There’s also an even more limited one, Sidekick, which has a few less whistles and bells which I’m not sure I’m keen on.
But thanks for mentioning it, Shree… you never know!

Glad the view helped to keep you warm as well!

it’s a wonder, Sir Aquatom, and stirs up many intriguing questions that presumably will never be answered. How did they build so magnificently without the aid of our modern technological knowhow and up to the minute equipment at hand? Bringing to mind many theories that ‘aliens’ visited and aided them… I wonder what the truth is about that, and I suppose ’til we’re contacted by them (aliens I mean, not the Ancient Egyptians, ‘cos they’d be even more ancient by now ) we’ll never know.. (then again, why would they contact our modern day World?… mayhap they’d catch something nasty…) … anyhow, I stray from the subject, love the view from this window of yours, ‘cos I’ve downloaded varies sites in Egypt as Wallpaper on my desktop, (new lappy … not old PC) …and I’m viewing them now as I type… Where was I? sorry, off to see the other post,… xPenx

Congratulations on your new laptop, Lady P!
I’ve heard of the aliens theory as well, but you’d think that if they helped out back then, they’d come back from time to time to see how we’re doing.
      Or maybe they do…

    Hi Tom! 🙂

The trouble with history is that the only bits we discover are painted on rock walls because any other medium (paper, Vellum, etc.) rots and disappears!

The pyramids and the rest of the burials provide the only information we have and all we can do is wonder what so much of it means…

The weather here is cold and windy, but we have sunshine at the moment so I’m hoping for a dry day! 🙂

    God Bless my friend! 🙂

    Prenin.

It’s fascinating, Prenin, joining the dots. Whether they’ve been joined correctly, in the correct order, is anyone’s guess, but they seem to be right.
And yes, a good day weather-wise here!

We may never really know. They UNDERSTOOD first hand the principles that we take for granted or don’t even realise underpin so much of our technology.

Maybe it is we who have hidden the obvious?

I think we have, Sideview. Maybe we are getting a little too lazy, and need to make things ‘easier’ for us.

Sometimes, in order to discover what’s hidden, we have to turn our backs on everything we ‘know’ – in an era where knowledge is everything, that’s pretty hard to do (just sayin’)… I like your take, thought-provoking.

Hello Ruth, welcome! And thank you for commenting!
What you say makes sense. To forget everything and start again.
However, we may be a little too advanced to forget ‘everything’ nowadays…

Tom, I’ve spent so much time of late researching the theories about how similar structures were built in the Americas. They’re out of stone and clay and dirt. I especially love the dirt mounds. But, nothing can compare to your original view.

I’m just as intrigued by the American Pyramids as I am the Egyptian ones. I can feel some research coming on myself! 😀
