What you are describing is peripheral vision which is more acute in the dark! 🙂
That and there are things that live in the shadows and in dark places… 🙂

I know we see in black and white at night (or in the dark) but whether I actually remember or even realise I’m seeing in black and white is a different matter entirely, Prenin. The slightest bit of light activates the colour-sight, so really we only see in black and white when we can’t really see anything, just black. I’m beginning to doubt this theory now…
