I’m sure I’ve written this post already.
I’m sure I’ve done the research, but apparently not.
It all seems so strangely familiar.
Déjà vu is a strange phenomenon. I experience it often, as I’m sure do many others. One of the strangest times I experienced déjà vu was whilst on holiday in Cyprus. I was actually on a cruise, and we called off in Cyprus for a day where we called into Paphos.

The place was instantly recognisable, although I had never been there before in my life. I knew my way around, and the whole experience was surreal. Very relaxing, I must add, and the afternoon sunshine was glorious. However, I digress.
What I experienced in Paphos I put down to déjà vu, and left it at that. But that isn’t exactly true.
Déjà visité is the correct name to this phenomenon, which translates to ‘already visited’, and some people believe that this effect is caused by dreams, out of body experiences or reincarnation. I wonder if I could have been in Paphos in the Seventeenth Century? If I had been, it would have looked completely different back then, so wouldn’t have felt as familiar as it did when I was there, which makes this seem unlikely.
Obviously, déjà vu still comes into it, as it’s still a experience that I thought I’d already done but apparently hadn’t.

There are many variations along the déjà vu line, and this week, I shall be looking at a few of them.
