Forever lost beneath reality…

Come with me to my land down under. No, not that one, a different one… a land where rocks and roots replace the sky. A place where rivers flow both beneath and above… where sunlight doesn’t shine and shade is everywhere… where strange creatures glow in the dark as they hop or fly or swim, twinkling like the stars in the night sky. The rivers from above drip down like a thick muddy rain, and cause the rivers below to flow.

It’s very hard to leave this place once here, unless you know the way. Unfortunately, I don’t… do you?

Sounds like Lurgan. Am I right? Somewhere in the Lurgan, Craigavon, Portadown area anyway. Where is it?

I don’t think so, Paul… any resemblance is purely coincidental!
I have no idea where it is, if I’m honest. A place to get lost in…

It sounds a lot like Mammoth Cave, but I bet your place is way cooler, Tom.

Andra, I was looking for an image to use with this post but couldn’t find one that was suitable… Mammoth Cave was the first image I clicked on (I’d never heard of it before!). I like the way how things work out at times!

Yes, it’s a wonderfully adventurous place, this being lost!
Finding it again, however, is sometimes tricky! And time… time certainly passes quicker when you are lost!

Sounds like the under-underworld created by CS Lewis in The Silver Chair. One of my favourite metaphors of all time 🙂 .

Heavens to Murgatroyd, no, Sue! I don’t like being in lifts!
I was just imagining being there with this post… goodness knows how I would’ve actually got there!

No I cannot abide confind spacess either although I will tollerate a lift.. my sister on the other hand takes the stairs every time.. She is really bad about her space… Glad it was only imagined!… And after living in a village where some of the Best Potholes are to be found amid the caves of the Limestone, I have seen too many rescue teams put their own lives at risk rescuing those who sent to explore.. 🙂

I use lifts when I really must, otherwise I walk too, Sue. And as for pot-holing… writing about the caves is as close as I’ll go. I would love to explore a vast cave though, as long as it has vast entrances and exits to go with it!

The dimension beneath reality sounds like a cool and magical place for Icewolf explorations. And seeing as you mention how much you like lifts…I’m sure you’d enjoy my scary big bad lift tale …erm my nice friendly sociable lift tale, that is 😉 and the alternative/parallel dimension outside it’s malevolent, possibly demonic…oops! … outside it’s welcoming, positively cheerful and welcoming 😉 doors. If it ever gets posted here…great read to chill you to the bone – naughty typos 🙂 to calm and relax the mind whilst your in the lift 🙂 (to another reality…ooopsy! Typos again!!) to the next safe and reassuring floor…. 😀

Icewolf, I never trembled once when reading about your lift. Not once…!
Ah yes, the typos… they’ll get you every time… 😀

Well no…of course you didn’t! It was just the prospect of losing your hair gel that caused you to quiver in dark dread and trepidation wasn’t it?!! 😀

Sometimes, the thought of using the hair gel makes me quiver… but I’ll quietly say yes…

Would you actually WANT to leave this place? It is an intriguing and magically enticing place with so much to see and explore! How mundane it makes the dimension we call reality seem! I do like your imagination 🙂

Thanks, Icewolf. I’d love to explore it, take in the earthy smells, and the cool, dampness of the air, and the echoes, and the drips of water etc, but I’d need to find a good way in and out first! 😉

It’s a lot easier to get in than it is to get out! And remember…Further dimensional shifts within your current alternative reality~ which would then be rendered a thoroughly unreal reality~are very likely to move your way out into a completely different, and very bizarre un-thought-of location which you will probably never find!! This would then leave you forever dimension hopping lost in very scary lift-like realities…oopsy 😉 Done it again 😉 …lost in all manner of strange and bizarre realities… a kind of ‘Noctis Labyrinthus’ – the ‘Labyrinth of the Night’ (a region of Mars between the Valles Marineris and the Tharsis) except of course you will be in another reality so you’d probably find it inside a big scary dark lift…deary me! Keyboard’s got a mind of its own 🙂 …a little tiny very friendly and loving lift 😉 … assuming you went through the right door or it might be a big scary dark lift!!! 🙂

But then, Icewolf, if, IF, I were to get into a lift when there was another dimensional shift, where I got out may be as troublesome as the lift itself. Nah, I’ll stick to walking… 😯

If you got out of the one I wrote about you would definitely find the new location far far more troublesome than the lift…only you wouldn’t be getting out of the dimension I wrote of…ever!! Trapped!!! *Manic laughter!!* 😀

Oh wow! You’re pretty awesome at these little short stories aren’t you?! I had some fun trying to imagine the land you were describing…it doesn’t seem like a very nice place and I wouldn’t really want to get lost in it either….unless…there was an old sturdy curvy staircase that started from the top and went all the way to the bottom…into a “netherworld” filled with light and flowers and wonderful things..hmm…or would the stairs start from the bottom going to the top of that land below the topsy turvy land…

I could imagine that staircase, Shree, and it didn’t look out of place… it was in the corner, with creatures crawling upon it, eyes looking out in every dimension… and the wood was knotted and gnarled. Oh yes!
