One Minute Ramble: Disconnected

Major problems connecting to the internet this evening… I know when something isn’t right when Google Chrome can’t find Google. Still, perseverance is the key. Where there’s a will there’s a way and all that. As I can’t get on line, I thought I’d write something just in case… I have a window of opportunity. In between downtime there is uptime, and that is the window I am aiming for.

The connection is gone
The web is down
The outside world ceases
Messages fail
Updates go unnoticed
No time to fall to pieces.
Questions asked like
How long until I’m back on line
Connected?
Plumbed into the World
(The world wide web)
And all my favourite places.
Only time will tell…
Hope it’s not too long
When I can re-use the ‘lifeline’
That Cyber Space is…
A connection to the outside world
And to my friends with words, not faces…

It so frustrating when we lose connection for a while, it feels like our whole day has been ruined by this seemingly personal attack on our free time.
You made excellent use of your down time though Tom, well done.

Thanks, Trevor… it was OK one minute and then it was gone. Mildly frustrating! 😉

never ever fall to pieces, ‘cos whose gonna clean up the mess? I ask you… Sir Aquatom,
but great poetic description of the turmoil the internet causes by a few words…. ‘you are not connected’… I am always connected, Cable wise. I can always feel my blood pressure rising, as I talk to the screen., quietly (?) and distinctly.. ‘Yes I **** am!!… and you made me laugh when Google lost Google… nearly chocked here!!
MY fave browser if Firefox, my ex uses Google Chrome, and neither of us like IE…whichever number it’s at!!
I agree with Trevor, excellent use of spare time. (um.. ever fancy repairing a tile roof? Just a thought. Got one in dire need… 😉 ) xPenx

Chocked is a more delicate way of saying it, I think… although I hadn’t noticed it until you pointed it out, Pen!
The turmoil I had (and I held myself together!) was with the error message Google Chrome told me: ‘The problem could be with the network, the network connections, the connection settings, the computer or the computer memory’. I think that’s called covering all bases…
Oh and speaking of coverings; I have renamed DIY to DIA (Do It Again) so putting me and you roof together isn’t a good idea.
        I’m thinking of choccies now!
