Now then, do I… ah…

Always at the forefrint of cutting edge technology is where you’ll find me, and that is where I am now. At the forefrint.

I’m not very technologically minded, mind, so being at the forefront, or being a pioneer, with any kind of new-fangled whatzits doesn’t come without its challenges.

Challenges are good though, otherwise they aren’t challenges, and they are just. And so, I am here, just.

Here is the New WordPress App for Windows. I mean, here I am, using the New WordPress App for Windows.

I downloaded it the other day, and have decided to try it now. Normally, I type and create away in Windows Live Writer, but using this App is just like being in WordPress itself. The colours, the look and feel, even the menu bar at the top. I can see my stats, look at the map of the world, view posts I follow all through this App without even going anywhere near my web browser.

Well, I’m near it. The two icons are next to each other on the desktop, as this image shows:

screenshota

But although I’m near it, I’m not actually in it, yet I’m using it all the same! Remarkable.

Posting via the Power of the Paradox. Now there’s something new.

Paradoxically speaking, though, this post isn’t really about anything, apart from the post itself.

This post, which I’m now posting. I’ve found the Publish button.

Well, here goes…

Congratulations Tom…on finding the publishing button that is. ..you are truly at the forefront of technology now! Most impressive state of affairs 🙂 I saw this mentioned on Flipboard or one of the Google news thingy apps yesterday but dismissed it as boring lol since its for Windows 10 if the bit I did read I read correctly! Would have to say though that anything that got round the need to use the windows 8.1 edition of l writer has to be worthy of 30 secs consideration. .. 😉 However I will be going into battle with it tonight if I get half a chance so no doubt a new horror will open up to haunt and upset me 😉

I don’t think it’s just for Windows 10, Icewolf, well that was the impression I got anyway.
And yes, I was well pleased when I spotted the publish button. I always like it when technology works first time when I’m using it!

Can’t find it now Tom! I think it came in an email…but which email account? I have several! I couldn’t find it in the Windows store either…or whatever that app with all the other app options is called 😉 If I get through with WordPress in time I’ll check it out again before I have to have a look at the inside of my eyelids….

Yes I did already…trouble is I think I was dreaming when I thought I’d seen a post about WP apps on WP’s blog…can’t find anything anywhere now! Wondering if I was getting confused with the Outlook email app for my mobile…though I still have the idea I saw both!!! My head hurts now too!

No, it was there, but it took me a while to find it as well…

Ok…all done 🙂 So it sits on the desktop as well as the star menu AND in the taskbar! It also looks exactly the same as the website?? 😉 We’ll see how it goes I think!

It does. I shall have to give it another go myself, methinks! 😀

I have one gripe about this…It won’t save my password unlike the Web version so I have to dig it out and sign in every time I want to use it!

Odd… it has saved my password OK, but I can’t update it to a new version…

Just had another look at that in the post from WordPress. Maybe I’m getting a bit confused. It doesn’t actually say windows 10 only so maybe I’d better go and try it out on my scummy little laptop and see what happens. 🙂 I use the app on my phone all the time and it’s cool so would be nice to have it on the desktop too 🙂

      Ah. Yes.
It does seem a nifty tool, Icewolf… give it a go. You can always uninstall it if you don’t like…

Oh…ok…this wasn’t the comment I was thinking of…boy is this confusing!! I’m working from the top down with comments and this is proving a bad route! I remember this post now…obviously I did see it somewhere, probably in my email notifications and it’s now deleted…I guess..trouble is my email account thinks my deleted folder is my inbox…and it’s not in there either! My head not only hurts but it is exploding!!!!

It’s most probably the way I reply to comments, Icewolf… namely in no particular order!!! I do try to start from earliest first, but suddenly find myself sidetracked…

Congratulations, but I’ll stick to my tried and tested WordPress editor – it’s changed so often I am surprised it actually still works!!! 🙂

    God Bless! 🙂

What’s tried and tested always bested, Prenin. It’s sometimes good when change is the only constant.

Well done for finding the Publish button – I remember once trying to publish a post that I had created in a way that was different from my usual way (the details escape me because it was well over a year ago!) and I was thwarted by the inability to find the Publish button.

At least with copy and paste not all is lost when that happens, Elaine. We’ll soon be stuck for choice if any more writer programs appear.

It is so good to meet you Tom after seeing just a glimpse of you in outer, outer space on the mission we were sent on from Ice Wolves of Europa. Hope your brain is okay and can’t wait to see what further adventures await us in deepest, darkest space…….
PS- Any friend of Wolfies, is a friend of mine!

Hello, Cindy… hope you’re finding the Mansion OK… yes, we are a little away from our normal territories, being on our mission and all… I wonder how things will turn out there?
As for my brain… well, thank you for asking. As soon as I find out, I’ll let you know!
We’re all friends around here! 🙂

I have W 10 and do battle with it daily – it cunningly shunts my stuff around in the most playful manner. Has the sense of humour of a cat, it does. Quinsecontly, I am now lacking courage to try anything else new lest I burst a braincell or something.

I have the occasional quirk with Windows 10, Col, every now and again. In the beginning, I couldn’t save any pictures as I needed permission from the administrator (me…) but I sorted that out, and its been OK since. Maybe try the new writer with one eye closed… that said, I’m back on Live Writer again now. Old habits and all that!
