The Chorus Bit

This week, I’m writing a song about writing a song.

As the words flow and creation grows
And the letters link together
It’s now or never
Now or never
Now or never
As the page fills imagination thrills
It starts to come together
Yes, together

That’s the chorus bit done. I just let the words flow there. No idea on a tune for it, however, but it’s the song I’m writing, not the music. I’m only ‘qualified’ in knocking two pieces of wood together. Yes, together. Ahem.

The next verse shall go something like this:

I began with a sigh
As I struggled to write
Anything to fill this space
I began with a sigh
As I said my oh my
It’s only a song for goodness sake
I began with a sigh
As I typed and I cried
Will things ever come together
I began with a sigh
As I looked to the sky
And thought well, it’s now or never

More drums and trumpets here, and then it’s the chorus bit again, exactly the same as before. Thank goodness for copy and paste!

As the words flow and creation grows
And the letters link together
It’s now or never
Now or never
Now or never
As the page fills imagination thrills
It starts to come together
Yes, together

Now, the next bit’s the tricky bit; it’s the middle bit. This needs to have more of a dreamy feel to it, and it also needs to link the beginning bit to the end. In actual fact, it is the end, as the next two parts of the song are simply the chorus.

It was the sigh that started the words to evolve
To appear from the ether’s edge
To fill the page
Of a journey’s tale
From the beginning to the end
And without the sigh
The tale’s a lie
As without it it wouldn’t exist
But because of the sigh
This is why
These words now exist forever

More drums and trumpets here, the last verse would have been sung in such a way that it reached a crescendo that linked into the final proper chorus:

As the words flow and creation grows
And the letters link together
It’s now or never
Now or never
Now or never
As the page fills imagination thrills
It starts to come together
Yes, together

A few mmms are needed here, as the chorus to end all choruses (or chori) is about to begin.

Tomorrow, I will put the whole song together…

It took a while to get going, Sherri, but it eventually came together. Well, the words did in a roundabout way…

That would be good, VK, although it would be someone else singing… I’m… erm… far too busy to sing the song myself.

This is a very awesome song! And great emotionally charged choruses to rouse and stir the spirits of man and beast!! I can hear the great crescendos echoing and the roll of drums calling till the blood of man is boiled to a primeval frenzy amidst the greatness of this mighty song!! 😅

I’m really glad you felt the passion within there, Icewolf, as that was my intention when I wrote the song!
