The Serious Selfie Post

Almost.

Either the hair’s all wrong…

…Or the shot’s too blurred…

…Or the camera’s too close…

…Or the camera’s not pointing correctly…

…Or the hair’s all wrong…

…Or the light-bulb blows…

…Or the camera angle and / or timing is all wrong…

…Or the zoom setting’s too high…

…Or the hair’s all wrong…

…Or it’s too bright…

…Or there’s a clonking great spot and the thumb’s in view…

…Or I look like a Klingon…

…Or I’m too shiny…

…Or the nose looks too big…

…Or the hair’s all wrong…

…Or the hair’s all wrong…

…Or the hair’s all wrong and there’s a thumb…

…Or there’s a thumb…

…Or the shot’s too grainy…

And there we have it. The not so serious Serious Selfie Post. Now, since I’ve posted these not so serious Selfies, I shan’t be posting another Selfie for quite some time. Unless, I take an unusual one which is screaming to be posted. Although, that said, I think everything’s covered here. Apart from the ones with really bad hair… which I doubt they’ll ever get to see the light of day again.

But who knows…?

One day, I’ll have the ideal Selfie. Until then, I shall remain patient!

Judging from your selfie comments about what is wrong, I’d say it would be well worth a post to take the same shots and comment about what is RIGHT with each one! That self talk is going to drag you down TL…Change the negative dialogue and change your life. Either that or it’s back to the laboratory for a new hair tonic that pleases. I go with the first option…Give it a go….VK 🙂

I agree entirely regarding the self talk, VK… but I have a clever opt out clause in that I was referring to the photographs rather than the subject (Spots and Klingons excluded, of course!). But, I’m already planning a follow-up post to this one, for next month sometime, which will be more positive… and dare I say it even more flattering. OK, I won’t say it!
And the laboratory is beckoning… my inventive urges are starting to stir… let’s see what happens this time!

Aah. Come on. Selfies are the rage now. Why shouldn’t you have a good time as well as everyone else. Of course, I’ve never taken one myself. 😀

They seem to have caught on a bit, Tess, don’t they?
Have a go… they’re trickier than you first think!

Never having tried one, I can only guess.

Thanks for a chuckle, Tom! I’ve only taken two selfies – just enough to determine that it’s not one of my talents. It’s fun to try, though!

They are tricky… everything has to be just right. Least of all the subject matter!

I would like to once see a selfie when your hair is just right, Tom. The weather’s been so beautiful over here this week, it’s been some of the best hair days of my life.

One day you just may, LA. Usually, when I have good hair days, I don’t think to use my camera, I shall have to think on next time.

You know you can photoshop out the thumb. So that means there is one workable one in the bunch. 🙂 As a matter of fact we could probably photoshop the hair, make it look right.

Dana, my photoshopping skills are almost as good as my Selfie taking ones. I blame my cheapo version of photoshop, if I’m being honest. That, and the fact that I don’t really know how to use it. Trial and error works most times, so I shall try and see what happens!

And now you know why I’m having so much difficulty producing a suitable-to-post type of selfie!!! This is a brilliantly funny post as much for the fact that it is so true to selfie-taking life, as anything else! I seriously can’t imagine being able to match your selfie posts in terms of fun and entertainment value let alone the ROTFL effect this one has had on my Wolfie self! On the other paw it has spurred me on to get my act together and see what I can produce if I really, really try! lol 😉 thanks for a great post and a wonderful fit of the giggles 🙂

I think this post must have been the culprit Tom of why your background picture would not load… It was mimicking these cropped photo shots.. I see you were having difficulties getting your best side…
Big Smiles Tom… 🙂 this made me smile.. 🙂

Ah yes, this is the post I was referring to, Sue. The pictures are actually quite large as well, which doesn’t help. Sorry for the problems here.

I do love this, Tom. Very funny! With all of these things to consider before, during and after taking a selfie, it must be a difficult time to be a youth. Yikes.

I’m no photographer (understatement), but I really like the first one; it’s quite moody, and great eyes (or rather eye and a half).

      Thanks, Steven.
It’s a headache when you get started. A giggle as well, but a headache all the same. I don’t know how the younger ones do it…
I like the first one as well, that’s actually my Serious Selfie, and the reason why I’ve added a border to it. I like the moodiness to it. And it’s caught my good eye just right! 😉
