One man’s art is another man’s garbage

I’m channelling another of my Inner Beings.

A-Hmmmmm. Brrr Brrr.

A-Hmmmmm. Brrr Brrr.

A-Hmmmmm Brrr Brrr…

Hello. Inner Being are you there?

(He’s nodding in agreement. It’s going to be one of those channellings!)

Could you please advise me of your name?

Tomelangelo

Tomelangelo? My SECOND Inner Artist? How cool!

And what would you like to show us today, Tomelangelo?

Art through photographs.

Sorry. It looks like this is another photo post. Sigh. OK, then. Go for it, Tomelangelo.

Tomelangelo… hello… are you there?

Hello.

That’s it? That’s your Art Through Photographs collection?

Like everything it’s a work in progress. Besides, Art is in the eye of the beholder. One man’s art is another man’s garbage. Everyone’s a critic nowadays.

But isn’t art meant to be more than just a bunch of photographs?

Art is what it is. An arrangement. Something that stimulates the senses; the mind; the critic. Art is creation expressed through a different vantage point. Art is a moment caught in time. Art is a message from the creator intended to create more thought; more creativity. Art is a craft that both expresses the imagination and ignites it.
Art is what it is. In whatever form it is portrayed. Acting. Music. Singing. Dance. Painting. Sketching. Writing. Poetry. And photography. Plus others. Anything that requires creativity, is art.

He’s hung up.

I notice that he doesn’t mention blogging. Is that an art form then?

He has a point. Anything creative you can be considered art. 😀
Handsome cat. Does he do art as well?

Splodge? Art? He can paint a great scowl when he wants to, Tess… but that’s about it. I caught him on a good day with these photos!

Tomelangelo has stepped forth Icewolf, to advise that another of my Inner Beings, Tomanova, is demanding that you take the rose.
Tomelangelo is pleased that you like the sweet collection. Several sweets went missing during that collection’s creation, and it was hit-and-miss if any would be left to be photographed.

Well…I could not possibly refuse the demands of your Inner being, Tomanova now could I?!! I shall take the rose with the greatest of Wolfish delight 😀
Yes…I can quite appreciate that several sweets would go missing whilst creating the collection…I was hoping you wouldn’t notice that a few more had vanished from the photo after my visit 😀 😉

Icewolf, not that I’m casting any aspersions or anything, but they all vanished. Every last one. And there was only me there!

Love the eyes opening and closing…Sounds like you and Tomelangelo have some things to get sorted out….Can you super glue the poor cats ear back together again? VK 🙂

I wish there was some way I could speed up the slideshow slightly, VK, but I quite like the way the eyes appear to open and close even though there’s only the two photos there! It’s as though Splodge is in the room with us! Splodge wouldn’t want his ear fixing, however… he thinks it gives him character.

Art, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder – have you EVER seen a beholder??? 🙂

To me Tracey Emin’s bed is NOT art – it’s an untidy person’s leftovers.

Dali’s melting watches however IS art and at its most surreal! 🙂

    God Bless!

    Prenin.

I’m undecided about the bed, Prenin. It’s still a creation, but if it has been created out of a bed, it’s still just a bed. Bed shops everywhere will be demanding art gallery status if this type of art catches on! I love the Persistence of Memory though. It’s kind of like looking into a dream.

I suppose we can blame or cheer (depending on your point of view) Marcel Duchamp for revolutionizing the concept of art, Tom. He was the guy behind Fountain, the urinal he signed R. Mutt in 1917. That was a very influential example of “One man’s art is another man’s garbage.”

Yes it is, LA. I signed a wall once and was forced to wash it off again. There’s no accounting for taste!

Unfortunately, as one of the photos shows, the bonbons all mysteriously vanished during the photo shoot. They have been presented out of order, for dramatic effect. I, erm, seem to have gone off bonbons for some reason…
