View from the window: It’s a JUNGLE out there!

As I walked passed the Vestibule to the Cellar earlier this afternoon, I noticed the lighting was rather peculiar in that one particular room of the Mansion.

Now, the Vestibule isn’t one of the larger rooms in the place, and it really just serves as a gateway between the Mansion main and the down-belows of the Cellar, the Catacombs, the Middle Place, and the Lava River and the Gateway to Hell, but there is a window in there, and, as such, the lighting should be quite similar to the other rooms on that wing of the Mansion.

Obviously, the windows in this place have amazing views, and, sometimes, they aren’t the same as they usually are.

I’ve looked out of this window a few times and found myself on a beach, or in a desert, or occasionally overlooking the Courtyard outside. I can actually just make out the trees in the Grinds at the back, but they’re way over in the distance.

Anyway, this afternoon, I looked out because of the odd lighting, only to see that that side of the Mansion had shifted again. Gone were the Rolls and Bentleys in the Courtyard (they actually weren’t there to start off with – I just added that for dramatic effect!), and in their place was a steamy jungle.

A sweltering scene that caused the windows to steam.

The Vestibule sometimes gets quite warm from the sun anyway, even in winter – although sometimes I think it may be due to the lava flow below… but not today. There was a jungle out there!

It was far too warm to stay in the Vestibule, so I left things as they were, and went to the Living Room. I glanced out of the window there, and everything was as it should be. The Grinds were in their normal place. In the distance I could see the Lake, and the Plesiosaur was sunbathing once again. And, although I may have been mistaken, I’m sure a couple of deer frolicked across the lawn.

Something tells me that Spring has sprung! Yippee!

I see that you have been doing some decorating around here Tom and nicely done, it looks incredible but then I do favour a black background so I am bound to praise it 🙂

Spring beckons, but then I guess we still have some wintry times ahead, never mind it’s all god 🙂 Have a wicked evening Tom 🙂 Great read by the way…

Just a few tweaks here and there, Andro – but then again, I’m always tweaking things around here!
You’re right, though – the mornings are now frostier than they have been for a while – the car was frozen solid this morning! But still, Spring is here!
And thank you, by the way!

It’s still a little nippy in the mornings, Andro – but we’re getting there! Light morning and evening now! Great!
And thanks for popping by here as well… hope you’re having a fab Thursday.

Lets hope the weather warms up soon – I’m not happy with having to run the central heating all day! 😦

Have a great Sunday my friend! 🙂

Well, the weather appears to be nicer during the day, Prenin, but icy cold in the morning. Frozen solid I was this morning…

If you can stand vast changes in temperature, Lady P… Actually, I may open the Mansion up as a holiday resort one day – once I’ve managed to stop it shifting, that is. Imagine leaving a guest behind in the twelfth century – that wouldn’t be very good at all… And yes! Spring is here!

Aaah, spring. I’d love some of that! It’s -43 here today with the windchill.

If it helps, Diane, my car was frozen solid this morning… I don’t think it was -43 solid, but it was somewhere down there(ish…). I almost did a quick burst of running on the spot then to warm up. Almost… the thought tired me out!

It is awesome what you see outside your windows! The Mansion is a very exciting place to live 🙂 But you do need to watch your step around that gateway to hell you know!!!

And be very careful when you mention spring lol that you do not mention it in the hearing of anyone who hails from wintry wilds of the US!! It seems to be a very sore point at the moment and could land you in a lot of trouble 😉 Oh…and best not to mention it in the hearing of anyone living in Somerset…or anywhere else on a flood plain or near a river for that matter!

It’s very exciting, Icewolf – I never know when and where I’ll wake up next! I like looking out into outer space though – those occasions are rather cool, thinks I!
      I get what you’re saying about Spring, though… and I shan’t mention it again too often… 😉

      Hasn’t it just, Sue?!?
Apparently, we’re now in for a heatwave, and (believe it or not!) I’ve heard the words ‘hosepipe’ and ‘ban’ mentioned. We can’t cope with the weather, can we?
