Not Quite There

Luckily, Young Matthew landed quite gently.

The leg had broken off the stool, and the hamster had escaped from its cage, which had turned out to be not as strong as it first looked.

“I must find another way to reach the choccie biccies on that top shelf” he thought.

This is a new entry for Red’s Flash in the Pan, which is just starting its new season. For this Hot Flash, the word limit is 50, of which I used all of the available words… and the theme is Reach.

Visit Red’s site if you’d like to participate in this fun writing challenge!

I’m still trying to get back into the swing of all things blog related, but hopefully I’m having more luck than Young Matthew!

That was the hamster’s sole purpose, Kate! The goldfish refused to have anything to do with this tale…

Now, I fear I am going to root around the kitchen for a snack, Tom.

Whenever you root, Andra, root carefully! Not like Young Matthew here!

Thanks, VK. He’s probably waiting for everyone to stop looking for him, and then he’ll be found in the cookie jar!

Nothing like getting a ‘leg up’ on the competition and the first Hot Flash (means ahead of the game) …I’m sorry the stool leg broke. Will you need to stay up all night looking for that slippery hamster?

    Oopsy. Nice one indeed, Tom.

    N–I–C–E header too. Looks great.

I’d put it down to divine timing, Tess, rather than a leg up!
And as for the hamster… well, he can look after himself! He knows where his bed is!
Pleased you like the new header!

so much described in so few words Sir Aquatom, (no hamsters were injured during this I presume? 🙂 ) and of course no biscuits either. So they’re still there, sending out cerebral messages, ‘eat me’ type of thing. I can hear them from here!! xPenx

That’s right, Lady P, no hamsters, biscuits or Young Matthews were harmed in the making of this post. A stool, unfortunately, was. Slightly, it must be said.
Have you noticed that biscuits give off that hidden ‘eat me’ calling as well then?

Interesting. What could a broken stool leg have in common with an escaped hamster? Could this be some kind of lateral thinking?
