One Minute Ramble: C-cold!

There’s a nursery rhyme that begins:

January brings the snow,
Makes our feet and fingers glow.

It was warmer in January than it is now. I’m sure of it.
The rhyme continues:

February brings the rain,
Thaws the frozen lake again.

We have plenty of rain, so that could be true of any month.
But look:

March brings breezes sharp and shrill,
Shakes the dancing daffodil.

I’m used to the March winds… strong, gale force gusts that whip up out of nowhere. This March, however, they’re coming from the east, so they’re sharper and shriller than ever. Cutting in fact. Rather cold for the time of year.

April brings the primrose sweet,
Scatters daisies at our feet.

It’s April next week. Let’s see, shall we?

Spring MUST arrive soon…!

Here’s Hoping, anyway!
HAPPY SPRING!

I’m with Visionkeeper. Mother Nature seems to be up to tricks all over the globe. After this post, I’m feeling spring fever-ish.

Yes, she still likes to let us know who’s in control, Tess, doesn’t she? 🙂

Spring brought flurries to NYC on Monday. It’s continuing where winter left off on this side of the pond, Tom.

Whilst the rest of the UK is seemingly under fourteen foot of snow, LA, here in Cheshire we have about a flake an hour. I think it’s being kept away by the sub-zero temperature gusts that seem to be taking hold here. Spring seems to be a long way off, but I’m hoping it gets here next week!

Just woke to more snow, but it is too little and too warm to stay, but the wind continues to whistle and wail around my front door!!! 😦

    Lord it’s C-cold!!! 🙂

    God Bless!

    Prenin.

Hi Prenin, yes we had snow here too… the odd flake, I mean. Nothing like what’s on the news.
      But yes… it’s oh so cold…

We’re having spring this week in Calgary – nice and sunny and +10C predicted all week. Unfortunately, I know it’s only a tease. Most years we get our last snow in May… but I’m going to enjoy “spring” while it lasts!

      Most definitely enjoy it! 🙂

I am full of HOPE, Sir Aquatom, and may I return the wish of ‘Happy Spring’ ….may the sun shine, the lambs gamble…(erm…gambol) …and all the pretty flowers show their faces and put colour int’ garden, instead of white blobs and plants with drooping leaves feeling sorry for themselves…(Jack Frosts been playing tricks all over the place) … xPenx
(Parker!! Stoke the fire please…and bring me a pint of Brandy!!)

Pen, Lambs Gamble sounds like the name of a good book… one to read on these freezing Spring nights.
Giles has the night off, so I have to do all of my fetching for myself. Oh, woe!

’tis terrible having to give the staff a night off, Sir A… I sometimes think back to ye olde days of yore… they’d be thankful for a minute or two to themselves…Sigh!! …
Parker is my bath ready yet?… and don’t forget to stoke that fire…and… what are doing?…. I said the bath was for me… get out of there… and….NO!! stay where you are, we’ll have this out in the morning… erm.. talk wise…

Goodness me Sir A, what are things coming to?… 😉
