One of those ‘where were you when…?’ questions.
Specifically, where were you when Me! Me! Me me me! received its fifty thousandth visitor? That’s this blog, in case you wondered what on Earth I’m waffling on about.
I’m not really one for visitor numbers, but I must confess that I do enjoy receiving visitors. I enjoy looking at my stats, but only because I like numbers, not because I want to be visited by thousands every day. Although, having said that, I am aiming to be visited by at least one person from every single country on the planet as part of my 101 Tasks challenge, which is still ongoing only a lot slower than I anticipated.
Well, here we are. Wellheregoes began almost 50,000 visitors ago on 13th May 2010. I felt like I was writing to myself in the early days… I still do sometimes, especially when my internet connection is down yet I type away anyway. Over time, visitor numbers have grown, which is obvious as the numbers clock up every time someone visits, but between us, I must count myself as a visitor too at times (on the occasions I have been logged out of my WordPress connection without knowing!), we have reached quite a milestone!
As I type this, I am 33 visitors away.

Who will be the 50,000th visitor? When will they arrive? Will it be before midnight or after midnight on October 2nd 2012 or October 3rd 2012? Will they arrive on the stroke of midnight, at the witching hour? Does it really matter?
Well, no not really.
It’s just a number.
But just in case you are asked sometime in the future where were you today (2nd/3rd October), remember you were here, around that time… hopefully feeling good… and know that you helped me to reach and smash the 50,000 target.
Thank you for all of your visits, and hopefully you’ll stick around for the next fifty thousand. Not all of my posts will be as weird as this… some will be even stranger, I promise!
