Random Interpretation: Moon and Venus

Dots on a page are dots on a page
With squiggles and dribbles and lines
But can you see what my mind sees
As the dots and things are combined?

Venus is very bright this evening, shining brightly just below the Moon. I always thought this was a satellite, until my trusty mobile phone with added Google Sky Map told me otherwise.

The ‘painting’ above is the view from Aqua Mansion, if I could view the Moon from the window, and the outside looked a little like this. It’s an interpretation. A random one at that!

It looks great, Tom! From time to time I try to do a painting of space, anything in space, but it’s never looks very good at all. Your turned out quite well, my friend.

  Thank you very much, Deb, and I’m sure your paintings of space look far better than my interpretation of last night’s sky! However, I do enjoy doing things like this, and playing with colour, so I’ll be doing some more. Hopefully, I’ll improve! 😀

I love it! You’re so talented. I wish I could master the ability to capture the essence as you’ve done here, instead of trying to paint exactly what I see. I guess the geek-brain is just too hard-wired. Thank you for sharing your vision.

P.S. When will your online art store open? I’d buy this one! 🙂

  The tip is Diane, to try to picture in your mind what you see slightly differently, and then paint that. That’s what I did with this, and then if it doesn’t look quite right, it’s because it’s meant to! 😀
  Unfortunately, this painting doesn’t exist, apart from in some software somewhere, but thank you for saying you’d buy it. In fact, for saying that, and if it did exist, I’d have probably given it to you anyway!

I love this, Tom. Great way to represent the night sky. Looking outside, there’s not much of a moon tonight but I must have a look later for Venus.

Aqua Mansion has a lovely view! Beautiful artwork. I love the Venus and Moon combo in the sky. In astrology I have a Venus / Moon Conjunction in Pisces an actual stellian in Pisces infact. Venus is exalted in Pisces. I am very Pisces.

  Thank you, Raven… the view isn’t exactly like that, I’ve omitted a few buildings from in the distance, and the trees aren’t as high (or as full – or as there for that matter!), but the view of the sky is almost the same. I think I’m very Pisces too.
