I’ve been having a go at writing some rhymes this week, partly on a whim, and partly as part of a mini-challenge I have set myself. I’m always setting myself mini-challenges with this blogging lark… as if thinking of something to write about in the first place (each day) isn’t difficult enough, I go and throw some extra level of difficulty into the mix as well. I suppose we all have these moments of madness at times, although I feel I have them more than most.
Maybe it’s another aspect of my multiple personality making an appearance – the mad me. Not that there’s much difference to the normal me, really, but in all fairness, the mad side of me deserves as much recognition as the other sides of me. Maybe the mad side of me is the driving force that has made me recognise the other sides… now there’s a thought. And I very often spend money quickly… you know what they say about a fool and his money…
No. This isn’t about money. Or Tomfoolery (see what I did there? Hee hee – just thought of that now!)
This is about me expressing myself through words (usually my own) and pictures (usually other people’s ‘borrowed’ from the web – thanks very much, creators, by the way)) in a very open and very public way. OK, my expression may not be too impressive, but it is mine (excluding some of the pictures). And sometimes, in a moment of madness, pure brilliance emerges.
It may not have emerged here just yet, or it may have burst into the blogosphere (I don’t think I like this term; I’ll stick to Blogland) inside a post I wrote last month. If you’ve seen my brilliance, can you let me know, so I can revisit it. What, you’ve found it? Where? What’s it doing over there??? I’ll come back to that later.
So. Blogging. Challenges. Me.
Blogging challenges me – it really does, although that wasn’t what I was saying. I know I have just said it, but there are full stops between the words. Blogging. Full stop. Challenges. Full stop. Me.
Oh, Full stop.
I enjoy my little challenges, although I got bored with the AA, BB, CC one that I did in about 1066. BC. (Just to throw in a couple more letters!)
My 1642 quest (Just to throw in another year – I’m in a strange mood tonight!) isn’t really a blog challenge as such, although it is a personal challenge to find out why I’m drawn to that particular period. (As in year; not full stop!) I may have a way to get some more information about this, but I’m keeping quiet about it for now. I’ll come back to that later. I seem to be repeating myself a lot tonight as well. Never mind.
My two current challenges (two of them – simultaneously! – although I don’t do them at the same time (even though I may have once…)) are to post what I want to say in exactly 150 words, and / or to write about my chosen topic for one minute, and that will be the post. I may amend these slightly to say up to 150 words for the first challenge, and the minute is to include corrections to typos, setting paragraphs, checking spellings, adding pictures, proof-reading etcetera (although, this won’t happen for at least a decade. I think I currently spend twice as much time back spacing as I actually do typing forwards, and for some of my spelling attempts first time… it is just completely and utterly impractical at this present moment. Never mind.) They wouldn’t be challenging if they weren’t a challenge.
Yes, I know that sentence totally contradicts itself, and also says what it means. Which means that this sentence contradicts itself too, but I’m typing as I think. It’s like making a live unscripted speech to the entire population of the planet, sometimes the right words appear but not exactly in the order that they are intended. The point is, that it makes sense at the end. And if it doesn’t, there’s enough there to piece things together. Hopefully…
No. This isn’t about unscripted speeches and things making sense (see what I did there? Hee hee – I drifted off for a moment!)
This was meant to be about me expressing myself through words (and pictures. Ulp… I need a picture for this post!)
I hope that’s what I’ve posted about today anyway. Unless I’ve got confused, and have typed up my shopping list. The money in my pocket is burning a hole… (again, seven, seven, seven…)
