The only impossible journey is the one you never begin. – Tony Robbins.
Have you ever thought about something that you think would be a really good idea to invent, and bring benefit to millions of people, only to discover that it already exists? How did you not know about it’s existence before?
Have you ever thought about someone, and the next day you saw them in the street, or they called you, or someone mentioned them to you? What made you think of them in the first place?
Have you ever thought that something was going to happen – and it did, exactly as you predicted?
I think these types of thoughts have occurred to us all on at least one occasion, yet when we get these thoughts we can’t quite believe what has happened. Because they have happened, shows they are not impossible. If we can think that way there is obviously more that we can do.
Think about the things that you believe are impossible. I’m not talking about flying or anything like that (and flying isn’t impossible nowadays anyway, well, not without help). Is there something you believe that you can’t do? Is there something you have always dreamed of doing, but never got around to it?
When you really think about it, what we think of as impossible really isn’t. There is always a way of doing something. Granted, we can’t travel in time, but we can travel wherever and whenever we like with our imagination. Because we can do that, it isn’t impossible.
Do you think winning the lottery is impossible? Well, think again! People very often win the lottery, so, if they can do it, it is fair to say that you can do it too! If you don’t play the lottery, then it is impossible to win – but only because you didn’t start (buy the ticket). As soon as that ticket is bought, it is possible that you will win.
Do you think you will never lose weight? Well if you don’t make the changes in diet and or exercise, then it is impossible. Make a start and it becomes possible.
Do you think you will never meet the man or woman of your dreams? Well, get meeting new people! If you don’t, you won’t!
Have you ideas to write a good novel, or a catchy tune, or an award winning recipe? They’ll never get done if you don’t start.
Do you look on and watch people seemingly enjoying everything they do, and feel it is so unfair that they have all the opportunities and you don’t? Do you read about characters in stories and think you could do bigger and better stories? Do you feel trapped, and need more time for yourself?
What Tony Robbins has said in his quote above is very true. Think about the things you have done in the past, and have been proud of. Someone, somewhere, has probably watched you do that and wished they could do the same. Look at all of the gadgets we now take for granted. They were invented by someone in the past to make things easier and better for us. Years before they were invented, they would have been classed as impossible.
Years ago, people thought men flying was impossible – we can now go out into space!
Years ago, people had the notion that the earth was flat. It was impossible that it was round. Now we know better!
Try to imagine living now without the TVs, cars, DVDs, music systems, fast food, huge shopping centres, and anything else ‘modern’, and that may seem to be impossible – however people lived without them in the past.
Everyday we are living the impossible, but are generally unaware.
Stop thinking in terms of how impossible things are, and think of the possibilities instead. There are far more possibilities than you actually can give credit for. There is only really one impossibility. Whether you start to do it or not.
