Is it really worth the stress wishing for a new world?
If we got rid of the old and brought in the new, somebody wouldn’t like it. If we brought in a blissful paradise, somebody wouldn’t like that. It won’t be their paradise, so they’d feel the need to change it to make it ‘better for all’. Then, somebody else will come along and change it again, fulfill their ego’s needs for what their paradise would be like. And they’ll bring in people. Groups of people who will, or maybe even won’t, share their vision of paradise. Squabbles will start, and before long, paradise will become a battleground.
So, is it really worth the stress of wishing for something different that will eventually become the same?
We don’t really need to wish for anything. It’s all out there anyway, and being out there, there’s already someone hell bent on changing it, destroying it, ruining it to ‘make it better’.
Leave them out there. Let them make their mark on their world, their blot on their landscape. They’ve probably got a loud voice anyway, which would become annoying after a while.
Go within. Build paradise there. Find calmness, clarity, composure, peace. Close your eyes. Find your magic genie lamp and give it a gentle rub. Or a rigorous one… it doesn’t matter, it’s your lamp! You’re actually the genie too! Create your own colourful world that nobody can blemish. Create your own magical doorway that keeps ‘that lot’ out there. Leave them to it. How can they be happy if they need to change things that much?
We’re here. Individually. Uniquely. Magically. We have power. And knowing that, nobody can take that away, no matter how hard they try, how loud they shout.
Yes, out there may not be paradise. The extras in our current movie scene may not be very nice. They may be dastardly villains… evil overlords… folk who should know better… but that’s them. They feel they need the power… but, if they just looked within, like us, they would see they already have it.
Bring your own magic, your own colour into your own world. If you want change, just be the change for you. Remember, you may be the nicest person on the planet, but somebody won’t like you. Should you change yourself for them? They may want to change you, but they will give up when they see your power. Change for you. Nobody else.
Be you.
Nobody else’s version of you.
Rub your lamp. Spread your magic.

Apologies. This was meant to be a poem. It was as though I was possessed…
