Greater Somerton Under Overwood.
A tiny village in one of the leafy green areas of England, with a name that seems strangely longer than the village itself.
The main road that runs through the centre of the village is split in two; Upper Greater Somerton Under Overwood Main Street and Southern Greater Somerton Under Overwood Main Street. The planners wanted both parts of the road to have individuality, with them being split by the stone humpback bridge, known locally as the Greater Somerton Under Overwood bridge. The planners didn't name the crossing.
Heading west along Upper Greater Somerton Under Overwood Main Street, then turning left onto Rozwell Crescent, one would normally find the cobbled road bustling with busy bodies, either working hard or trying to work out what everyone else is up to.
Not today, however.
Oddly, a UFO appeared over the crescent, which is more like a right-angle corner at that bit of the crescent (but the planners couldn't think of another name for the residential thoroughfare), and abducted all of the humans. Even Edith who kept her coal fire burning all year round was taken...
The planners, never having planned for such an incident, held an emergency council meeting, but couldn't decide on an appropriate course of action. Eventually, the council leader, Sid, decided to close the road.
Not that it did anything to help the abductees, but made it look like something was being done.
