Nothing escapes
Not even time
Not even water
Not even wine
Surrounded by darkness
Drawn in with the light:
The sock that went missing
In the washer last night

Just where does the washing machine take those garments it takes a fancy to?

Perhaps it spins the items so fast on the spin cycle that the garment’s molecules vibrate out of our existence, and into the washed out land? The innards of a Black Hole? The dark side of the Moon?

All I know is I’m now down another sock. I’ll need to buy some new pairs at this rate!

  1. Ha…. I too had this problem, and I believe that there is a Washing Machine Monster! But I beat him at his own game. I bought a bag and put all the socks into that bag – tied the neck of the bag and then put the bag full of socks (of either whites, mixed or dark colours) in the machine and the little blighter couldn’t work out how to get those socks out …. so he packed his little spotted hanky, tied it to a pole, and bu&&ered off to live at your house!

Sorted my problem out anyway. :o)

          1. Uhm … have you seen the film The Odd Sock Eaters? If not … you need to. It explains sooooo much.

Safe link – You Tube short video/trailer for the film. It came out about 3/4 years ago, and I’ve watched it about 4 times.
Get in touch with your inner child, find the film on Prime or Netflix or whatever you have, draw the curtains, make sure you have a drink. then click to watch the video. It will open your eyes and speak to your inner child, but teach the adult you are today. ~ Cobs. x

            1. Not only have I never seen that movie, Cobs, I’ve never even heard of it!
The trailer gave me a good indication as to what’s happening. It makes perfect sense to me. My Inner Child nodded in agreement.
