Wordle: A Nice Cup of Tea?

wordle250916

Screams and wails
Knocks and taps
Heart pounding in my chest
Heavy rain hits the windows
Free will prevents me from heading upstairs
The noises are coming from there
I check the date once more
It’s not Halloween yet
A pot of tea to clear the fear
A burst teabag doesn’t help
Tea floats like ashes in the cup
Rinsed away
Cleaned the mess
Tried again
Slurped quickly down
Only realising after it was hot
Fear makes you do the oddest things
Submit to what we think is going on
But screams and wails, knocks and taps?
Wind through a closed blind on an open window
As the storm rages outside
Relief it’s over, and – wait! What was that?

The beginning of an even longer nightmare, Col… oh, yes it was.

That is when people are greeted and told to put their young on solids? Hello: wean!

Oh, how I loathe and detest burst teabags! I think that was the worst part of the nightmare, Tom. 😀

I agree, Sylvia! They don’t go down very well, do they?

No, I usually end up chucking the whole thing away and starting again.

A cup of tea is definitely in order on such occasions – I am glad I am not the only person spooked by split teabags – there is something ominous about it

Even more so after you’ve been caught out in said rain, Sue! 😉
