They doubt your authenticity
With your talk of love and pain
When you break away suddenly
To meet your own selfish gains
Gossip mongers chitter
Heads tilt with wild tales –
But I choose not to listen –
Lean instead to your better ways

  1. Yes often the best person to talk and listen to is ourself – i liked the idea of ‘chitter heads’ (even though it’s separated in your poem:)

    1. True, Jae. Only sometimes I have a nagging voice that I really do not want to listen to!

  3. Nice and economical!
Not sure I like the ‘mongerer’ even though some people use it. ‘Mongers’ says it, and I don’t think the line is poorer by losing a beat.

    1. Thanks, Col.
I’ve changed it, although ‘mongerers’ is how I speak. Must be my northern English!

      1. That could be it. The further north one goes the more incomprehensible it gets until it deteriorates into shudder Scots! πŸ™‚

  4. We are surrounded by gossips here.

Doreen is the worst – she never lets the truth get in the way of a juicy bit of slander!

    God Bless! πŸ™‚

    1. When you know the difference between truth, gossip and fiction, then it’s all good. It’s when you don’t know when the problems start.

      Me, Prenin, I’m clueless! πŸ˜€

Yes, not to waste time over it. Lots of other things good about each other to bother about. Truly said Tom!
