The Little One

I was meandering around The Grinds yesterday, when from under the Rockery this chap or chappess appeared. Eager to be photographed (he or she must have known I carried my mobile phone with me!) the cute little critter bobbed in and out of the little hideaway, posing long enough for me to take two quick snaps. And then he/she was gone. Hightailed โ€“ erm โ€“ lowtailed it out of there as fast as his or her legs would go.

Itโ€™s the little things we need to look out for as well as the bigโ€ฆ thereโ€™s always a surprise!

TL….That is a Guinea Pig is it not? They are pet store pets! Why is it out in the grinds and can’t you save it or find it a home? Very sad to see it discarded like that….VK ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

I thought it was a hamster, but you could be right with a guinea pig (for some reason I thought they were black and white with long fur, but I could be thinking of something else!) I don’t see it as discarded… I see it as free. And you know these Grinds… home to anything and everything, large and small.

But they are not outdoor animals. They don’t know how to hunt for food or defend themselves etc….This worries me. It needs to be in a safer environment…. VK ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

They’re safe in the Grinds, VK. Trust me. Don’t worry about them. (And the post is tagged ‘Surreal Reality’ which as you know usually refers to Mansion-world stuff, so all may not be as it seems!) But really, they are well looked after.

I think so, Sylvia. I think there may be a few of them as well.

Glad you had your camera and a willing subject. A cutie hopefully not lost.

I always have my mobile phone with me which has the camera on it, Susan, which comes in handy at times! I’m sure the little critter’s OK!

That appears to be a very tame guinea pig, someone’s discarded pet. It probably approached you because it was hungry.

It’s well fed, Cindy… it was just bobbing out to have its photograph taken! ๐Ÿ˜€

Yes, they make short work of seeds and things… I think that’s what you’re referring to, Prenin! ๐Ÿ˜€

In their homeland they are considered a delicacy – never tried them myself though as they are too cute! ๐Ÿ™‚
