Ten Words for Monday

The day started off as it usually does.

Early. 5:15 and the alarm woke me. And again at 5:20. And 5:25.

Dark. Sunrise isn’t due at 5:30 around these here parts yet, so I had to substitute sunlight with bulb light.

Wet. I take a bath every morning, and my baths are usually wet. And warm, luckily.

Cold. Well, it was cold outside, but not as cold as it has been – no need to defrost the car or anything this morning.

Quiet. That early in the morning, it’s as though I’m the only person in the world. Until I drive onto the main roads, and then my illusion is shattered.

Dillopy. With traffic being heavy, dillops begin to emerge. Impatient and discourteous folk who need to get to where they’re going before everyone else, at the risk to all around them.

Calm. I breathe deeply and relax, and remember a mis-quote from Rudyard Kipling’s If:

Keep your head while all those about you are losing theirs, don’t react, and the world is yours

World. I don’t want the whole world. Just the good bits. And more inspiration for my blog. A better Inner Typist would be a slight improvement. Oh, and to be a few stone lighter.

Thoughts. I think some strange things at times, when I’m driving. And not only when I’m driving. As I was typing this I was thinking of a wing-walking koala eating a banana. See?

Words. Sometimes, like today, words fail me. But I still need to string a few of ‘em together…

Every once in a while, Sue, I zone out and seem to fall into an empty void… I’m trying to stop that happening this time, hence the recent One Minute Ramble posts and now this one! Normal service will be resumed soon, as they say.
I’m glad I managed ten as well! 😯 hehehe.

    Hi Tom!

I know what you mean about early mornings! 🙂

I have nowhere to go at the moment, but I have trained to get up at 6.30am and (most times) I manage! 🙂

I’m now down with a bug or two, but apart from that I’m fine! 🙂

Good work oh wordsmith – you certainly can pound them out!!! 🙂

    God Bless my friend!!! 🙂

    Prenin.

Well, I try to, Prenin… time permitting and Blogger’s Block not withstanding!
I’m thinking I’m back to normal now. Kind of. Ish.
      Hope you’re feeling better!

      Thanks, Andra.
It felt like wringing out a dry cloth, but I got there in the end!

Well, for someone at a loss for words, it doesn’t show! Dillopy is definitely one I shall have to add to my vocabulary as there are so very many on the roads of Quebec!
