More of the Moon

(Or did I see the crescent, or the whole of the Moon?)

A couple more shots of last night’s Moon, this time over some rooftops. A few hours before the Eclipse, and a few hours after the very large Moon photographed in yesterday’s post. The Moon, however, was still very bright,

I don’t know whether I dreamt it, or whether I saw it, but I remember looking out and seeing only part of the Moon visible in the early hours. It was its normal colour, though, not red… and obviously I didn’t photograph it.

Well, your mind’s not exactly your own at that time of the morning, is it? Mine certainly isn’t!

Coppery blood red moon here at full covering…So gorgeous! Froze my tush off outside watching at 39 degrees but it was worth every bit of chill I got. It was great. VK 🙂

It’s worth it to see such a phenomenon, VK. I remember seeing the last one a few years ago. I would have loved to have seen this one in person, but I was too busy trying to sleep! 😉

Gotta get your beauty sleep TL…I’d imagine the hair gets a wee bit out of control if you don’t 🙂

With it or without it, VK, it has a mind all of its own! Even more so at times of unusual Luna Phenomena!

I’ll probably be doddery then myself, Sue, so maybe it’ll take pity and appear at a more reasonable hour!
They say the camera never lies, but it does when photographing the Moon… it never looks in an image as it does in real life!
And yes! It’s good to see you again as well, Sue!

I went for a drive to a nice poorly lit park to see it…. was so beautiful!

I wish I’d have seen the red colour, Dale, but it was too late here so I missed it… although I did see the Super-sized Moon, which was spectacular!

I don’t think you’ll miss it though, Prenin… there are lots of photos of it about! 😀

It was cloudy so I didn’t see any moons, super or otherwise. I like your photographs, though. I admire your dedication in staying up so late.

Welcome BunKaryudo (may I call you B?) and thank you… although I feel I must admit some photos were early evening, and the others were taken on the off-chance when I couldn’t sleep. Sorry you didn’t get to see anything in your neck of the woods.

Well, it’s a good evening not to be able to sleep! Usually when I have insomnia, the most interesting thing I get to see it the digital display of my alarm clock. (B or Bun are both okay, but the way. Bun is pronounced like Boon.)

Very sore point this! Stayed up till 2.30am under the impression it was going to turn red somewhere round this time and it stayed stubbornly very large and very bright…silvery white…..gave up on the basis it was all rubbish and the moon wasn’t going to turn red….woke up 5.30am….still big and bright but not at all red….found out later that it happened about 3.30am ish…yes…very sore point indeed!!!!!!

Ah – sorry to hear that you missed the bus with this one, Icewolf, but there’ll be another one along soon. Lunar Eclipse-wise, not buses.
