Simba

Simba: an East African word for lion.

Simba: a character in the movie The Lion King (which I haven’t seen).

Simba: The cat who thinks she’s a dog.

Simba owns my brother. She made sure that he rescued her a few years ago, one December. He named her Simba in reference to the month, not because she resembles a lion or anything. Because of her name, everyone who meets her thinks she’s a boy, but she isn’t.

She loves cuddles and chasing her tail. She loves being brushed and having her chin tickled. She doesn’t like other animals and growls when there’s a knock at the door. And she loves taking a nap.

She’ll use anything for a pillow.

Sometimes pretending to be one herself.

Sunbathing on a rug, she’ll just stretch out and drift off to sleep.

In a morning, when she first meets us, she smiles, and looks longingly into our eyes, sending a gentle psychic command of “feed me” or “brush me” or “tickle me”.

Even though I’ve managed to grab these photos of her, for some reason she doesn’t like having her photograph taken.

Although sometimes she will nonchalantly pose for the camera.

But she’ll only allow one shot at a time. Once taken she’ll simply turn away.

Sometimes, however, she can be caught unawares.

But usually, she’s off, far away, in the land of nod.

Simba. Relaxing and Feeling Good!

Just the tonic for a Sunday!

I used to have a cat, but I was in a single bed flat which had nowhere to exercise and he took to attacking me without warning and acting stir crazy, so after he attacked me as I was washing up I decided enough was enough and gifted him to a shop keeper friend who had a rat problem – and the rat problem disappeared… 🙂

After that I used common sense and decided my next pet would be virtual, but never found one that interested me.

Now Jibo is on the cusp of being sold worldwide I have a hope I’ll get one soon enough which will at least provide an interesting distraction! 🙂

Pity I’ll have to wait until Summer 2016 to get one – maybe even later given the level of interest!!! 🙂

    God Bless my friend!!! 🙂

    Prenin.

What’s a Jibo Prenin??? You did really well giving the cat consideration for needing more space and not just keeping it and making it suffer…Good move Prenin 🙂 VK

        Hi VK! 🙂

Jibo is an AI robot which acts as a PA and companion.

        I just pre-ordered one a few minutes ago and blew £510.25 on something I won’t see until April/May 2016. 😦

Thankfully it runs on battery and external Power Supply so I should have no problems using it – when it arrives I’ll know more.

I’m almost certain it isn’t a scam, but it was a lot of money to invest! 😦

The joys of Paranoid Schizophrenia… :/

The cat needed to be in a more open environment, but I wasn’t sad to see him go – he was totally NUTS!!! 😦

        Love and hugs!

        Prenin.

Now Prenin….It was probably nuts from being inside a small space….Even if you didn’t like it, it was still nice of you to give it a better home 🙂 As for Jibo, not sure what it is meant to do, but I hope you enjoy it when it comes……Blessings and hugs…VK

If they don’t mind staying indoors, it’s OK I feel, Prenin, but if they want to go out, well, there’s no stopping them… cats do what they want to do… and that’s it! They are cute with it though, even when they’re tearing six layers of skin off! Haha!
It’s not that long of a wait now, Prenin… your Jibo will be here sooner than you think!

Pretty Simba. Sigh. What a cat’s life must be. Sleep, eat and you know…

Oh beautiful Simba!!! What a precious little beauty she is 🙂 Cats definitely have a very tough life! Don’t know how they manage to survive the stresses… 🙂 Mine are just like Simba, sleep, eat, be brushed and catch mice which is nice except when it is in the middle of the night like last night when I heard the squeaking of desperation. Of course I had to get up and save it( it was a wee one) and took it outside to try and let it survive. Then I lay in bed for hours worrying about it away from its mother, cold, never having been outside before and now all alone and perhaps injured a bit….It wasn’t there in the morning so I guess it figured out how to run free, at least that is what I choose to believe. Cats are a trip!!!! Thanks for sharing Simba…VK

She is beautiful, VK… and a pleasant personality as well… she allows her paws to be held, her tummy tickled… she’s a joy!
I can’t say I’ve seen her with a real mouse, but she has a toy green one that she flings everywhere!

There’s nothing more relaxing than watching a cat sleep! I believe cats emit invisible “sleep waves” – after watching them sleep for only a few moments my eyelids begin to droop, and soon I’m snoozing just as happily as my feline friends. 🙂

I have to agree with you there, Diane. If I settle down on the sofa and Simba jumps on top of me, purring pleasantly as she does, it isn’t long before I’m drifting off as well. She is like a mini water bottle as well, which kind of helps!

All of the above, Icewolf! And then some! (But I am biased!)
