View from the window: Moons Above

moons above_1

I meandered through the Observatory in the Mansion the other day… how long an Observatory has been here is anyone’s guess, but anyhow, I meandered through it.

I noticed something was ‘up’ when I saw multiple shadows being cast all around the room… and no light was on in the room. The lights were coming from outside, even though it was getting on in the evening, and the lights in the Grinds were switched off.

I looked out of the window and saw the oddest of alignments. More like a scattering, actually.

A strange mist was settling, which obscured most of the view of the Grinds, but it wasn’t really the Grinds I needed to see.

The sky was full of objects… planets and moons, I think.

The odd thing was, Earth and Moon were also up there. Nothing unusual for the Moon, I suppose, but (and I could be wrong about this) I was sure I was on Earth when I walked into the Observatory.

I snapped the picture quicker than you can say ‘cheese’, and just in time, because a split second later there was an almighty crash of thunder and a bolt of lightning filled the view completely with a blinding flash. Then there was rain… torrential rain.

Within seconds, the rain cleared, and the view returned to normal.

Whatever that is, all things considered…

The Mansion sounds like a fascinating place to visit!!! 🙂

Maybe the observatory doubles as part of the Mansions navigations system?

    Just a thought… 🙂

    God Bless!

    Prenin.

You may be right, Prenin… a part of the Mansion I wasn’t meant to see, perhaps?

I’ve been meaning to mention, the new header is wonderful, Tom.
I wonder if you’ll ever stop finding new things to explore at the Mansion. 😮

Thank you, Tess… you know me, I’m always fiddling with the header!
I think it’s more a case of the Mansion showing me rather than me finding them… although something tells me I will be ‘finding’ more new things for the foreseeable future!
