The Secret Watcher

Silently he sits. Watching. Waiting.

Unmoving.

As still as a statue; not even twitching a whisker.

Staring.

Anticipating the moment to move.

He decides now is the time.

The threat is gone. The time is right to curl up and have a lazy afternoon snooze.

He still watches secretly, though. He knows what he is doing.

***

This is Splodge, another visitor who calls around from time to time. A wary little chap, he intently watches everything that goes on. He posed for these photos especially for this post, which has been written in response of Sideview’s Weekend Theme. This week, as it says in the title, is The Secret Watcher.

Pop along to Sideview’s site for other takes on this theme.

Sheee’s Baccck!!!! The computer problem I think came from the fact I hadn’t installed any windows updates in ages. I hate downloading stuff from the Government and Bill Gates IS Government let’s face it! Anyway, I can get back in now 🙂 Great day to return! I love Splodge. Such a beautiful boy he is. I see by the torn ear we have been in a battle or two or three. A true survivor! Thanks for sharing his presence TL…Have a happy 🙂 VK

Hi VK… good to see you again, and that you’ve got to the bottom of your problem. There’s been a few too many of those lately!
Yes, Splodge does look a little battle weary, doesn’t he? Although he seems to do his fighting away from an audience. He hardly moves if humans are around.

    Lovely cat Tom! 🙂

Judging by his right ear he’s been in a scrap or two!!! 🙂

    God Bless!

PS: I needed the https:// prefix to post this.

It’s over a month and we’re still having problems!!! 😦

      That he is, Prenin!
I’ve not had any problems for a few days now, but I’m still slow in getting back to commenting in case I’m still being sent into spamland. I’ve not needed the prefix for a few weeks, so hopefully whatever fix has been put in place is being gradually rolled out. Slowly, very slowly, obviously!
Hope it’s all sorted for you soon.

Thanks to that overly enthusiastically applied block list we’re still seeing problems if you are a Talk Talk customer, in fact the majority of the people on the forum who were having problems were Talk Talk customers…

        God Bless! 🙂

I LOVE this take on the theme, Tom, and I love Spoldge. I wonder how a cat that size stays secret to a tiny vole?

Thanks, Kate. I don’t think the voles will even see Splodge as the walk by – he is so still – they’ll be in his claws before they realise!

What a splendid chap – those ears certainly show he has not always been content to be a watcher… they are well and truly scarred from battle. Thanks. I enjoyed 🙂

I think that a lot of stray cats are very wary of humans, some are cruel to cats and indeed most wildlife too, so trusting someone is always dodgy 😦 Then again it is similar for us I guess? It pays to be cautious 🙂

Have a fun Monday Tom 🙂
