The sky was clear, not a cloud in sight.
It was also warm; odd, considering the time of the year.
I couldn’t sleep, hence noticing the clarity and temperature. I looked out of the window and everywhere looked the same.
Darkness; shadows; but with a clear view.
My attention was drawn to something… a flicker in the sky. Something that I knew normally shouldn’t have been there, but there it was.
A dim blur, yet bright against the blackness of the early morning sky. I’d have missed it if I wasn’t looking in that direction… or awake, at that time…
