Quick post today, due to some reason or other that is even more boring than this post is!
I wonder if there is a term for something that captures the feeling of something that is boring in the nth degree… something boring in the ultimate extreme… something at the outer reaches of wherever boring can stretch? A specific word that conveys what it actually means, yet doesn’t.
Dull, for instance, kind of goes there. We know that if something is dull, it isn’t appealing, but it isn’t actually boring either. Boring doesn’t actually take the meaning to the levels I’m intending for it to go. Dulling, During, Bull… no. Not good enough.
Never mind. I’m sure a word will turn up one day for what I need.
A few bloggers who I follow (who most definitely ARE NOT boring – I really must be specific about that!) have recently posted search terms that brought the searchers to their blogs. I’d decided to do the same with this post, until I realised that my search terms must fall into the category of the word I’m trying to find that encompasses the ultimate boring but not quite.
However, one or two did amuse:
hayfever sneezes tickle or itch or tickles or itches or itching or tickling or itched or tickled
There’s nothing like being specific in a search, is there?
how can i have snowflakes on my computer screen
…now, in general or specifically?
lips telling a secret
Secret? What secret?
tom guess who
Who?
ad “is this working” “oh it’s working”
What? What!?
catch phrases of curiosity
I know I’m curious now…
aquatom1968; aquatom blog;
Now how did these bring you here?
illusions that make you pass out
I’ve seen that one before
волк
Bonk? (Actually, I know this doesn’t say ‘Bonk’… it’s Russian for Wolf!)
cucumber sayings
I know it’s not, but it is an odd search term at the same time
wet rain
As opposed to the dry stuff
surreal reality
You’ve found that alright!
guess who old
The readers of this post if they’ve got this far, that’s who!

Post ends! Phew. Sorry, but I did say it was boring.
My next post will hopefully be less so…
