More problems… a test post

At about 10.40am UK time on 27th August 2012, I was happily browsing through various pages on the World Wide Web, when I suddenly had the urge to view the WordPress blogs I follow.

I went to the dashboard, and clicked the link to view the blogs I follow. I was taken to the ‘back room’ as I call it, but nothing appeared. The links to other areas were there, but no other information.

Likewise, when I tried to view my site stats in detail, again these wouldn’t appear.

Ulp, I thought, the dashboard is down.

When I returned to my homepage, all of the avatars weren’t visible, only small red crosses. I clicked on one of these, and was taken to the Gravatar site, which also seems to be having problems.

I returned to my blog, and now, it too, is not displaying properly.

Other blogs are also not appearing in the format I am used to.

Something has gone wrong in the blogosphere, as other sites are fine.

Hopefully, things will be back to normal soon.

This happens sometimes Tom, luckily it is infrequent
and doesn’t have a lasting effect so I am sure that your
issues will have already sorted themselves out, I hope
so anyway 🙂 I think your background might have been
different the last time I called in but hey I am always on
changing how my Space looks so this could be okay
and not part of those dreaded glitches yo mentioned 😦

  No, the site was working fine until it went randomly strange this morning. It looks like it’s back now. I wasn’t aware if anyone else was having any problems or not, so posted this at the time. I couldn’t find information or anything about a problem… I couldn’t actually add a new post through WordPress, but I was able to do so through Windows Live Writer. Odd. But, things seem OK now, I’m pleased to say!

  You do sound as though you’ve been busy lately!
  I tried fixing this problem myself this morning… I clicked this and closed that, shutdown and restarted about a hundred times, but it was always the same. It’s fine though now, which is always good!

If this is not working for you by now Tom, try cleaning out your cache! You can find it by going up on your toolbar and clicking tools, and going to advance. There you will find it. Hope this helps you..

  I tried that earlier today to no avail, but it appears things have been sorted now.
  I say appears because I have just received a DNS Look-Up error message when I first tried to reply to Tess above. Oh No! Hope this works!!!

Did you try logging out and logging back in? Sometimes something as simple as rebooting is the answer.

  Hi LA! I did try that, but I also tried a few different computers as well, and had problems with all of them. I knew the problem wasn’t at my end, but nobody else seemed to be having problems…

      Quite possible, LA, but only from the landline telephone networks… my mobile phone connected without any problems whatsoever. A really weird temporary glitch just affecting me. Sounds about right, actually! 😉 All’s well now though, so can’t complain!
