One Extra Minute Ramble: A Response to AAAARGHHH!

I’m trying out Firefox.
Google Chrome is crashing left, right and centre so much now it has gone beyond frustrating. I used to like Google Chrome. I really did. I may return one day.

I use Firefox sometimes, but not as often as I used to use Google Chrome. Now, the tide has turned. I shall be using Firefox more, and Google Chrome less. Much less.

There. Now you know.

Less of:

And more of:
Of course, the problems may have been caused by that mysterious trojan that my scan discovered last night, but I’ll see how things go with Firefox for now.
A change is always as good as a rest anyway!

Yes, Microsoft Security Essentials caught the blighter lurking in some dark corner somewhere. It was soon expunged! 😀

Hope everything begins to behave now. Tom. I was about to try Chrome but I’ve just made a hasty decision not to!

It’s gone from being really good to shockingly terrible, Kate. I don’t know what’s changed, but it is most definitely not working as well as it used to… maybe it has something to do with their privacy changes, but I don’t really know…

I tried Google Chrome and gave it a kick in the can and then kicked it INTO the can. Had nothing but trouble with it. But, as you mention, may the Trojan is making life a pain.

Oh good you found the trojan!!
I had said about one-care, now I remember they changed the name from one-care to Security essentials, it’s a good scan and free of course is great. I used to use it before I bought nortons, now I can’t live without my nortons but if I ever suspect a problem I will do many scans with all programs I can get a hold of online as well.
    Happy St Patricks day Tom.

Actually, Nikki, I have Norton’s on my computer and used that to scan last night – it found eleven tracking cookies even after that Security Essentials scan the night before – where do they all come from? I’ll be scanning all the more from now on.

Happy St Patrick’s Day to you too, Nikki! 😀

Thanks, Sue. I think that’s what I’m going to have to do. I tend to take my computers for granted but really don’t like it when things go wrong with them…

I have mine set to scan regular.. and its usually when I want to watch a Youtube which makes it run slower. Lol. but I have had no problems.. I use AVG free edition and have for 6 yrs now and it clears out any unwanted visitors pronto.. I know it not got the same as the ones you can buy but it has done a pretty good job so far… ( always cross fingers having said that.. But I back up regular too which is on a regular setting… Ive known too many loose everything and I would hate to lose my poems and spiritual write ups I keep on here.. So know what you mean about things going wrong ~Sue

I think I’ll need to do some back ups as well. I’ve just run another scan, and more of those tracking cookies have been discovered. I’m beginning to think that I’m being watched…
