OK, maybe not that fast this time, but I suppose this indicates that there is always a chance that I may be, one day.
Having said that, though, I was rather swift this evening. I finished work at five as usual. (And no, my swiftness has nothing to do with the speed of me exiting the building….)
The traffic is always terrible at 5pm, ‘rush hour’ really lives up to it’s name, and tonight was no exception. The difference about tonight was… I had to go supermarket shopping.
I queued all the way along the road to get to the supermarket, and luckily the traffic lights to enter the car park were green. Usually, I reach traffic lights that are red, but not tonight.
My car park space was empty. I have my own. I like to think it is reserved for me, but it isn’t. I quite like the walk from it to the store, but I usually park there as it is a little out of the way, and it is usually guaranteed to be free.
I called at the cashpoint on the way in and withdrew some money, and ambled around the store collecting all of the required items from my shopping list that had been so excellently prepared earlier.
I had to queue at the checkout with my full trolley of shopping, but eventually I got through. I paid, and then walked back across the car park to my car. I loaded the boot, returned the trolley and then drove home.
I got home at 5.40pm.
5.40pm.
I’d queued in traffic, filled a trolley, queued in the queue, filled my boot, queued in traffic, emptied my boot – and did all of this in forty minutes!
It usually takes me ninety minutes just doing the ambling around the store. It takes at least fifteen minutes to actually get to the store!
I spent all last week trying to find ways to slow down time, and tonight, without even thinking about it, I managed to do just that!
It just goes to show that we do get what we ask for…
With a little more practice, my time control super powers will become very refined. With a little more practice, I will become faster than a speeding bullet.
I’ll take things one step at a time though to start off with. There’s no point trying to run when I’m just getting going, is there?
But it felt good being that quick! I like feeling good!
