Away from anywhere
From everyone
A secluded beach
Shelter in a dark, cold forest
Open to the elements
The animals
The insects
The locals
The heat
No running water
Leaves to eat… possibly coconut and maybe pineapple if lucky
Tropical storms
Thrashing winds
No facilities
Possibly jellyfish in the water
And sharks
And cold cold nights
With cold sweat soaked clothes from the day’s heat
And no washing machine
Or toothpaste
And nowhere to go
With no way off
Except the third Wednesday next September
Next year, not this
And it’s now only July
Still, it’s quiet
Apart from the thrashing wind
And the waves
And the rustling leaves
And the hiss of the…
…
On second thoughts, I think I’ll dream about somewhere else.
