Palmistry

Open your right hand and hold it in front of you, palm facing upwards… notice the lines that go across, choose one but don’t allow your attention to lose focus upon the others. Whilst concentrating on your chosen line, notice if anything changes with it, or any of the others; the line may embed itself further into your palm… or it may expand and reach around the top and bottom of your hand… or it may work with another line and create something as you watch. Rather than the line doing something now see if the space (skin) between the lines takes shape… you may see a flower or an animal (as I was writing this, a llama appeared to me, its long neck reaching up from its shoulders at the bottom of my palm, up to its head, which was looking directly at me, level with my middle finger… I could clearly see its wool). Keep watching… do the other lines create something… a scene in the background, perhaps, or something totally unrelated – from the base of my thumb I saw the sun’s rays beaming down on my llama. I then watched as my scene filled with colour, mostly reds, I’ll admit, but the more I looked, greens and blues began to show through. It doesn’t take much to fire one’s imagination, but stories can be found absolutely anywhere… even in the palm of your hand if you look close enough.

Posted for Six Sentence Stories. This week, Denise has chosen Fire as her prompt word.

I followed the directions in the story, and focused on a line. The line seemed to quickly disappear, which wasn’t surprising, as the lines on my palm are already quite faint. Then I saw a horse, facing slightly to the right. As I continued to look, its legs lengthened to that of a giraffe’s. I just now looked at my palm again and the horse-giraffe is gone. The End.

I got a llama and you have a horse-giraffe, CM. These stories bring about questions of their own, don’t they? I wonder if there is a hidden meaning? Some subtle message. It’s all very interesting. And in six sentences too! 😃

Ah-ha! I didn’t pay attention to the number of lines in my previous comment. But I remember I was somehow compelled to end with “The End.” And that gave me six lines. And as one with OCD tendencies, I’m now compelled to count the lines in this comment. Turns out I also have six in this one.

        😁

😂 We could go on all year with this. If we wanted to. But it’s best we don’t. Time is off the essence. Writing six sentences all the time can be very time consuming. So let’s not. 😏😊🤭

Gosh, how exciting… tell me more! Let’s talk in one of the booths. You know, in the SSC&B (smiling).
