The Door Around The Corner

I had an odd dream.

Another blogger, a completely random stranger and myself found ourselves walking around the winding streets of an unknown town. We became aware that we were being pursued by some strange people, so nonchalantly walked around a corner and quickly left the street through the first door we came to.

On the other side of the door, we once again found ourselves out on the winding streets. We had a feeling that we had gone back in time a few years, and as we walked around again, we became aware that those  pursuing us were back on our tails. We went around the corner once again and surreptitiously entered through a different door that seemed to be in the same place.

On the other side of this door, we found ourselves back on the winding streets, but even further back in time. Yet again, after walking around, those following got closer, so we went through the door on the corner again.

Further back in time, and once again on the winding streets, we walked, but in no time our pursuers were closing in. Around the corner we went and through another door.

The pattern repeated itself many times before I woke up. Each time, we were further back in time, and there was less time for walking before those chasing caught up.

It is only since writing this that I realised my dream was a perpetual loop. We weren’t being ‘chased’ by anyone… we were merely catching up with ourselves.

Maybe it is time for me to go within to find out any answer to this or any other of my dreams…

What an intriguing premise for a story! Running from past selves… or future selves! And as the story progress, you get subtle hints at the identities…

Well now TL, You really are getting out there on the far rim of reality! Kind of a creepy dream because you can never change it until you wake up. Maybe that is the message not only for you, but for all of us in pursuit of a better world. We must wake up and get out of the dream once and for all or it will just continue. The more we dig for answers the more interesting life becomes! Stay away from winding streets and basements! Have happy. VK 🙂
