The Other Round Table

Destined to go round
Without a set place
Looking out to the past
At a slow pace
Echoes of voices
Thoughts reappear
Things look familiar
But are we still here?
The illusion of time
Brings us to now
Even tabling reason
Asks why, when, what, how...
Reality blends
As fluid dreams flow
Did that really happen?
Where did they go?
I'm sure I saw Lancelot
Or Merlin, I think...
King Arthur was here
Sipping his drink
You were here too
I know that for a fact
Yet it all seems so hazy
Completely off track
Here we go
Around once again
Take a deep breath in
Count back from ten...
Step into the past
A life lived yet unseen
And who are we now
Pauper or queen?

The other roundtable, …fact or a fable, … do we dream or does it seem , that reality isn’t able? To feed imagination., to give us all we require, …so we live in the dreamscape, … playing knight, lady or Squire, ….sorry Sir AquaTom, .. but your wonderfully descriptive fine poetry, above, just sent me on a rhyming journey, ✨
