The Unicorn Challenge: The Gathering

Mid afternoon. The sun is high, bright and hot. Calypso Beach is deserted. The nearby holiday island of Citadel is buzzing with activities such as pool parties, foam parties and the annual knobbly knees contest, with all participants and party goers prepared to spend the next twelve hours in their individual bubbles of fun.

The loud music carries over Calypso Sound, a cacophony of noise that keeps even the native crimson-beaked parrots away.

The shop owners have had enough and want to have the peaceful Calypso back, a place where tourists can amble gently and casually, browse the small marketplace, and eat at one of the seven fine restaurants.

The shop owners gathered at the beach front, with Palco Ramco, the revered witch doctor, and his assortment of mystical tools, bones, and rattles.

At exactly 3:33PM, Palco holds aloft a golden staff and directs an intense beam of concentrated sunlight onto a tray holding a variety of multicoloured herbs.

He chants an ancient song as the herbs burst into bright golden flames. He dances around the tray three times and captures some of the blue smoke in a small stone jar, placing his hand over the top. He lifts the jar to his mouth and blows the smoke in the direction of Citadel. As the smoke travels, dark storm clouds appear, which move over and descend onto the island.

Silence surrounds those gathered.

Citadel is gone from view, perpetually shrouded in cloud. The party goers now partying for eternity.

Spooky, … and I loved it, Sir A… Is Palco available for bookings? Could do with my neighbours being, ‘clouded’ … Otherwise, …I’ll just have to dream , …💨💨💨💨

I too have a neighbour like that, Lady P. I may ask Palco to invoke his magic here…

… for testing purposes, you understand…

I totally understand SirA, … testing makes good sense to me, let me know the outcome, and we can try it here. One has to have proof positive, positively. 💫

    That was fun, Tom.
Nothing like a bit of witchcraft to help karma along and get rid of sound pollution.
    Lovely images too.

And I’ll bet the parties won’t notice until they run out of rum! Nice one, Tom!
