Familiar

When he is being stubborn, and doesn’t do as I wish, I let him know with a hiss and a quick swipe. Sometimes a scratch. Sometimes a bite.

He knows I’m in control. I just let him think it’s the other way around, so I can siphon his power. I can wrap him around my paw.

And I do. Often.

My subject and I work well together. Most human and cat pairings do, but most cats have become used to working for their masters. Not I. I may be his familiar, but he is my subject. I let him believe he is in charge. I let him believe he looks after me. I let him believe.
