After trying to capture a few photos of the Cormorant on the Lake the other day, only for he/she to dive beneath the water’s surface as soon as I was ready with the camera, I was pleased to see the elusive critter bobbing about on the surface again yesterday.
As I walked around the Lake, I noticed the bird had left the water and was stood on an old stump on the Central Island, wings outstretched.
I’m not sure how long the Cormorant needs to stand like that, before the wings dry out, but it was rather chilly yesterday at the Lake, so it may have been there some time.
Unless, like with me and the camera the other day, he/she was merely playing with any passing fish and pretending to dry, ready to dive back in to catch a tasty morsel without a second’s notice.
At least I got my photo… even if at a distance!
