Poetic

Can I not compare thee to a Summer’s day?
All warm and fresh and green
Where skies are blue and water clear…
And frost and ice unseen?

For Debbie’s One Word Sunday.

A wonderful contrast, Tom! and for me, perfect for a Sunday.

Pleased you think so, Frank. Spring is just around the corner now, so hopefully the contrast will now start to fade a little.

Definitely poetic – a nice portrayal of snow and ice and I love the words

That poem would work if you lived in Arizona, although not during the summer. Much too hot then. You’ve inspired me to write a poem that’s sort of like a limerick in that the first, second, and last line rhyme and the third and fourth do too. I bequeath you all royalties that may come from the sale of it! 🙂

How can I compare thee to a blooming cactus?
I must admit it would take practice.
Although you can be very prickly
It would make our relationship quite sticky.
You might want to accuse me of malpractice.

Those blooming cactuses get everywhere, Janet, don’t they?
🙂 And thank you for all those royalties! 🙂
